Ocean City, MD - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be conducting dredging operations in the Ocean City Inlet through September 27, 2021.
The work will be conducted within the federal navigation channel and at ebb/flood shoal at the confluence of the Ocean City Inlet and Atlantic Ocean.
Interested mariners may contact the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dredge via marine band radio VHF-FM channels 13 and 16. Chart: 12211.
The dredging effort was triggered as a result of an ongoing bottom survey of the Inlet conducted by both the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This has resulted in temporary realignment of channel markers to better reflect current channel conditions and support the scheduling of the Corps of Engineers dredging effort.
The continuing close working relationship between the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the U.S. Coast Guard has facilitated rapid response to ever-shifting conditions in the Inlet.
