On September 17th, 2010 Annapolis mayor Joshua Cohen announced that the city was forming a citizens committee to help them revitalize City Dock. Now, CDAC serves as the foundation for public involvement.
The group has three main objectives: establish the guiding principles for the use and redevelopment of City Dock, develop and define a design plan for the area based on those principles, and encourage and coordinate public participation.
One step they’ve taken to fulfill that last goal is to open their meetings to the public. They’re currently in the process of forming their master plan (how official does that sound?), so if you’d like to have your say in what happens to City Dock, head on over to their website to check out their schedule and locations.
There, you’ll also have access to Powerpoints from past presentations, the current master plan outline, and their 91-page final principles document. Seriously, it’ll tell you whatever you want to know. You can also stop by Market House to see highlights of the July 26th presentation on display in its windows.
While details of farther-off meetings are still TBD, CDAC does know that they’ll be holding an extra meeting on September 5th up at Pip Moyer Recreation Center in Truxtun Park to discuss the preliminary plan, especially the Memorial Circle configuration.
There will be a follow-up public workshop on September 13th.
If you have questions, feel free to shoot them over to citydock@annapolis.gov.
