
2 Alarm Building Fire Update
As you may already be aware, this morning there was a 2 alarm fire on the 100 block of Duke of Gloucester Street. OEM notified/updated residents and City Employees using social media (Facebook, Twitter and Nextdoor), Emergency Management Alerts, Prepare Me Annapolis and Alert Annapolis. Due to Fire Department activity, the following roads were closed around 5:00AM into the morning rush hour:
- Duke of Gloucester Street from Church Circle to Conduit Street
- Main Street from Green Street to Church Circle
As of 8:00 AM this morning, Duke of Gloucester from Church Circle to Conduit (incl. Charles to Duke of Gloucester) will be closed for an extended period of time. All other roads are now open to vehicular traffic. We are reminding everyone to be alert and use caution in the area. Traffic congestion and delays are still expected. St. Mary's issued the following notification: "Due to ongoing road closures, St. Mary's Elementary and High School will be closed today, Monday, Nov 25th. All afternoon activities are cancelled."Office of Emergency Update (OEM) will continue to work with Fire and Police and provide further updates. Their main line is 410-216-9167.
