Rockfish: Fishing is still great all over the Chesapeake Bay! The mouths of any of the rivers and inside of the rivers are great places to fish. Try the Potapsco, the Chester, the Magothy or the Severn! The bite north of the bridge is still pretty hot, but we are also getting reports of bigger fish moving north. Try heading down to Thomas Point, the Eastern Bay and Poplar Island. Jigging, trolling, and bait fishing are all productive methods right now. Upsize your plastics a little bit to 7 inches, and add skirts to bulk up the profile. Additionally, we often find that the fish move in shallow after rain storms, so these next few days would be a great time to try fishing paddletails in shallow water! Top water in shallow water should also be good. Last but not least, chumming at any of the points is still a good strategy!
Pickerel: Pickerel are also in all of the rivers! Try heading up to the shallow waters of the Magothy or the Severn! Use small paddle tails or xraps! Any of the Eastern Shore ponds such as Wye Mills, Tuckahoe and Smithville are also good spots for them.
Perch: White perch are in deeper water and can be found over hard bottom. The mouth of the Magothy is a good place to fish for them! Yellow perch are starting to shop up as well! Fish for them with a minnow on a bobber in the shallow waters of the rivers.
