Motorists Should Expect Single-Lane Closure for Two Weeknights
(Aug. 1, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will improve the road surface of a section of westbound I-695 (inner loop) prior to Exit 5 (MD 648 – Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard) in Anne Arundel County this week.
On Wednesday Aug. 3, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., crews will temporarily close the right lane along westbound I-695 between Exit 4 (ramp to I-97) and Exit 5 (ramp to MD 648 – Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard) to remove a deteriorated section and pour concrete. On Thursday night Aug. 4, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. crews will temporarily close the left lane of the same stretch of highway to complete repairs.
Portable and overhead variable message signs will provide motorists advanced notification of the work. Temporary traffic signs, reflective barrels and electronic arrow boards will alert and guide motorists through the work zone. Drivers are reminded to reduce speeds and remain alert when traveling through the area.
MDOT SHA’s contractor, Team Cam Services LLC, of Linthicum, is performing the work.
