Rockbridge Academy upper school students assembled a virtual collage to honor health care workers and first responders on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis. The message praises workers for selflessly “maintaining courage and bravery through dangerous times,” as student Rachel Lee said. The collage has been posted on the school’s Facebook page.
Since live classes were suspended in mid-March, Rockbridge Academy has continued instruction remotely for all grades, and students have stayed connected through online social gatherings, club meetings, and Bible studies. They’ve also found ways to serve the community together: in addition to creating the collage, students have written letters to hospitalized COVID patients, reached out to isolated elderly friends, and collected baby supplies for an Annapolis community suffering from COVID-related unemployment.
Junior Sarah Daly explained: “[A]ll of our service is in response to Christ's love for us. As recipients of this love, we are called to serve others! It is super easy for me to get caught up in how hard quarantine is, but when I think of how much harder it is for others, I am thankful.”
Rockbridge Academy is a classical Christian K-12 school in Crownsville, Maryland.
