FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Easton, MD - October 13, 2015) -- A local family with philanthropic spirit visited the Ronald McDonald House in Baltimore on Wednesday to present the organization with more than $1,500 in gift cards and supplies for patients and their families.
Nash and Melanie McMahan and their children, Brennan and Rilynn, delivered the donations received from Brennan’s 7th birthday party at Easton Bowling Center on September 11. In lieu of gifts, Brennan asked his friends to ing gift cards, toiletries, household goods, and other items that the RMH is always in need of. The family lives in Denton and their children attend The Country School in Easton.
“Brennan often thinks about other children who are less fortunate and wanted to help by making his birthday an event that was less about him, and more about how kids can help other kids.” said Melanie.
Governor Hogan recently partnered with the Ronald McDonald house and was visiting the same day as the McMahans made their donation. The Governor’s office provided dinner for all the RMH families that night and even took some time to meet Brennan and praise his humanitarianism.
Brennan’s good deed will go a long way to helping the staff of the Ronald McDonald House do what they do best: lessen the burden on families contending with chronic illness and keep those families together so that healing can take priority.
