Annapolis, MD - County Executive Pittman, alongside the Friends of Crownsville Hospital Patient Cemetery, will dedicate and unveil the "Say My Name" Memorial on September 4. The memorial recognizes the over 1,700 individuals who lived and died at the former Crownsville State Hospital, most of which were buried in unmarked graves.
After extensive research by the Friends of Crownsville Hospital Patient Cemetery led by Janice Hayes-Williams, these individuals have been identified, allowing for this permanent tribute that restores their names and honors their lives. The County Executive invites the public to join this meaningful event of remembrance and healing.

PARKING: Members of the media and the public are invited to this event. Guest parking will be at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds. To enter the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds from Crownsville Road, take Generals Highway (Route 178) to Crownsville Road. Turn left at the intersection of Generals Highway and Crownsville Road, the fairgrounds will be on your left, approximately half a mile down Crownsville Road.
