Easton, MD - Dust off your disco shoes and get ready for a walk down memory lane as acclaimed ABBA tribute band Dancing Dream returns to the Avalon Theatre on Friday, October 18th at 7pm. This incredibly talented band takes audiences on a journey back in time through ABBA’s greatest hits, complete with elaborate costumes, soaring harmonies, and exciting choreography. Dancing Queens and Kings alike will be grooving along from the first note to the last!
The proceeds from this can’t-miss concert event support the vital mission of local nonprofit SOS Sink or Swim. The Eastern Shore is surrounded by beautiful waterways, which are enjoyed by people of all ages. But the water can also mean danger for young ones: 20% of all drowning victims are children. With proper swim instruction, the likelihood of childhood drowning decreases by an astounding 88%.
SOS Sink or Swim partners with Talbot County Parks and Recreation to provide free, no-question-asked swim lessons for children and adults in Talbot County. Lessons are provided by trained instructors at Talbot County’s public pools during the summer.
SOS has just completed their 10th year of service to the Eastern Shore community, and has provided more than 9,000 swimming lessons to date. Last year’s sold out Dancing Dream show helped to provide more than 1,000 swimming lessons this summer. Local families will have peace of mind, knowing their children will be safer in and around water, thanks to your support.
Tickets are selling fast, so make sure to head over to avalonfoundation.org to reserve your seat today!
This year’s event is presented by Susan Whaley, Pam and Jim Harris, Barbara Hendricks, Elizabeth Moose, Ann Thayer, Stephanie Little, and Tracy and Scott Wagner. SOS would also like to thank Life Saver Sponsors, Deborah and Tom Lawrence, and Swim Sponsors, Andrea Dynes, Easton Utilities, Steve and Myra Gons, Genevieve Murphy, Town and Country Wine, Liquor, etc., and Rene and Tom Stevenson.
