As a Catholic college-preparatory secondary school, Archbishop Spalding High School is committed to challenging our students to grow spiritually, academically, physically and socially. The school community provides a caring environment that affirms the dignity of the individual and promotes learning.
Archbishop Spalding offers a rigorous College Preparatory curriculum with diverse course selections. Honors level classes are available in most courses and are designed to further challenge students. Advanced Placement classes allow students to challenge themselves with college-level courses. Additional specialized programs of study offered are Project Lead the Way – Pathway to Engineering, Project Lead the Way – Computer Science, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
When schools were shut down in March, we had to suddenly change the way we taught and learned. Archbishop Spalding transitioned to distance learning from day one of the closure and continued uninterrupted for the remainder of the year. Annual events and prayer services were hosted online which fostered the sense of community that Archbishop Spalding has always been known for and cherishes.
The Class of 2020 earned over $33.1 million in scholarships. Some of the schools they will be attending this fall are MIT, George Washington University, Georgetown University, Purdue University, Syracuse University, United States Coast Guard Academy, United States Military Academy, United States Naval Academy, University of California Berkeley, University of Chicago, Carnegie Mellon, and more.
Everyone is looking forward to getting back together, but until then, we continue to maintain the high level of scholarship, spirituality, and fellowship that are the hallmarks of a Spalding education.
