When it comes to hosting a holiday, not only do I need to clean my house (twice) but you need to think about the menu. For starters, the most important part of the celebration is spending time with my family and friends. If I cook, serve, host and bartend there will no time left to enjoy my guests. Since spring is around the corner and the sun will be shining, I plan to host an Easter gathering at my home. Not everyone can hire a caterer to do the entire party from A-Z, but I plan to have Main & Market take care of my menu. My sister loves brunch, kids can run around outside and we can drink mimosas! We can pick up our food the day prior to avoid the craziness before Easter Sunday in café (make your reservation now!)
There are 3 things that make me feel “rich” besides my family… a full wine fridge, my cookbook collection and setting the table with all of my serving pieces. I love entertaining, obviously. Setting the table scape the night before always keeps me on schedule. I will get a sweet bouquet of flowers with a hint of lavender and orange for my centerpiece and place on my pressed celadon linen cloth.
Off the top of my mind I plan to have our mini donut muffins, deviled eggs with bacon jam, mixed berry salad, grilled asparagus, spinach quiche, Applewood smoked salmon and I think I’ll do a leg of lamb with a tarragon mustard. Don’t forget dessert and that has to include coconut for us on Easter so a polar bear cake with lemon curd filling, marshmallow icing, topped with coconut will finish us off . Perhaps an afternoon hike might have to follow… If I planned well, we can have leftovers for dinner!
Make your life delicious by contacting Main and Market so you can enjoy your family and friends on your upcoming celebration!
