Anne Arundel County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), Inc. (AACCASA) cele ated 19 years of service to abused and neglected children with CASAblanca: Someone To Watch Over Me on November 5th at the Westin Annapolis Hotel. This 10th annual gala raised more than $89,000. AACCASA is a private, nonprofit organization that is comprised of professionally trained volunteers from the community, who are appointed by the Juvenile Court to serve as advocates for abused and neglected children in the foster care system. CASAs keep children from “falling through the cracks,” and work diligently to ensure that each child finds a safe, permanent and loving home.
Over 300 people attended this premier, black-tie event, which boasted magnificent décor, delectable food and drinks, exciting live and silent auctions, and live entertainment provided by First Class. The event recognized the following individuals for their commitment and dedication to AACCASA over the years: Deborah Potter, Esq., Potter & Burnett Law received the Corporate Commitment Award; Taylor Pyles, Founder of The Blue Ribbon Project and CASA Volunteer received the Community Leadership Award and Karin Larson, CASA Volunteer received the Caring Heart Award.
