With a winter that undoubtedly overstayed its welcome, we couldn't be happier bidding adieu to those chunky knits and heavy coats to make room for warmer weather essentials. Especially when this season's trends are so playful, yet polished.
Case in point: prints. The difficult-to-miss trend is everywhere, from loose-fitting shirts to shift dresses in understated color pairings and over-the-top vivid hues; abstract graphics and simple stripes. Add extra dimension (read: excitement) with textured fa ics, like lace overlays and 3D patterns, paired with bold color blocking for a fresh approach to mixing and matching.
As far as spring's color palette goes—the ighter, the better. Although it's no surprise that white remains steadfast as the “go-to” hue for an easy spring ensemble. And forget about orange—navy is the new black, offering a softer, yet decidedly sophisticated take on the classic white and black combo.
Even better, the white-navy pairing naturally lends itself to another runway-inspired trend: nautical accents. Whether it's an ocean-inspired hue or aquatic-themed accessory, incorporating maritime cues into spring ensembles is a eeze. And, along with eye-catching prints and lively colors, a surefire way to melt those winter blues.
