Established in 2002, the Arts in Easton Banner Program invites 44 local artists to create 88 pieces of original art on canvas banners -- 30" by 40" in size. Mediums vary and include acrylic paint, oil paint, photographic art, mosaics, and three-dimensional art.
The banners have adorned the downtown sidewalks since last year's Plein-Air Easton! festival, held in July. They were removed from the lampposts last month, separated, and then cleaned in preparation of the auction, which will be held this Saturday night. They will be displayed in the Waterfowl Festival Building prior to the festivities to allow for public perusal.
This year, preview hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and noon to 3 p.m. Saturday. The auction begins at 7 p.m., and boasts complimentary drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and more. It's a jubilant affair you don't want to miss!

What can guests expect? An evening of food, drinks, entertainment, and the opportunity to silent bid on 88 pieces of original, local art that highlights the Easton community as a vibrant arts destination. Guests can view the banners and even chat with the artists that created them! Live music will be provided by Redwine Jazz Band, which performs "popular" music from the early part of the 20th Century and consists of clarinetist Ben Redwine, guitarist Tom Mitchell, and bassist John Previti.
Food and drinks? It'll be easy to eat, drink, and bid away, thanks to complimentary hors d'oeuvres and an open bar (wine and beer!).
What about parking? If you’re not familiar with downtown Easton, there’s lots of free street parking along Harrison Street. There’s even a parking lot a block or so away from the venue (towards the corner of Dover and Harrison Street) if curbside parking isn’t your preference.
Are tickets still available? There's no need to worry about tickets -- the event is FREE and open to the public. Just stop by the Waterfowl Festival Building and enjoy! The dress code? It's a Saturday night -- dress up a little, but be comfortable! Business-casual is the suggested attire. You'll be mixing and mingling with artists after all!
