The Maryland Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society held the Annual Annapolis Leukemia Cup Regatta on May 29th and 30th.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Leukemia Cup Sailing Regatta is a thrilling series of events that combine the joy of boating with the important task of raising money to cure cancer. It was a record eaking year with 103 boats participating in the regatta and $247,000 raised for the mission of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
This important community event was kicked off at the Seersucker & Linen Summer Gala, hosted by Annapolis Yacht Club on Friday, May 29th. Over 300 people attended the event, which featured an ice luge for the signature Goslings Rum Swizzle, elegant hors d'oeuvres, a fabulous live and silent auction, and live Caribbean style entertainment.
The Leukemia Cup Regatta National Sponsor Timex attended the event and provided all guests with Timex watches. The night concluded at Gold Sponsor Iron Rooster for the official after party.
The Leukemia Cup Regatta began in Annapolis 23 years ago and has spread to 46 sailing communities across the country. Since its inception, The Leukemia Cup Regattas have raised over $50 million for lifesaving research and patient services, inging help and hope to patients and their families.
