What do pirates love to do more than anything else? Why, p'ARRRty, of course! More than 230 people attended the Privateer Party, the annual benefit for Historic London Town and Gardens, on Friday, April 28th.
This year ought not only record attendance, but raised a record amount of over $40,000 towards Historic London Town and Gardens, a museum and gardens on the banks of the South River.
During the evening, attendees enjoyed food from nine different caterers and restaurants, a rum tasting station from Blackwater Distillery, a photo booth from Pixilated, and both live and silent auctions.
Proceeds from the evening support London Town's public programming and preservation efforts, including educating over 5,500 students annually about local history and preserving the William Brown House (c.1760), a National Historic Landmark.
Next year, the Privateer Party will be moving to the fall to allow for London Town's participation in the House and Garden Pilgrimage on Saturday, April 28th, 2018.
