Whole Health Designs Hosts Successful First Pop Up Shop
Whole Health Designs hosted its first WELLness Pop Up Shop in June welcoming more than 750 people to their “one-stop-shop” for healthier living and lifestyle.
The proceeds from the weekend’s event benefited Anne Arundel Medical Center with donation to Oncology and Health Promotion & Community Outreach. “The best part of the weekend was seeing how well the community of fitness instructors, healing practitioners, as well as local artists, and merchants all came together to provide alternative ways to heal and stay healthy,” said Lisa Consiglio Ryan, Founder of Whole Health Designs.
There were events all weekend that supported wellness in the community including a fun run, a fashion show full of summer athletic wear, and fitness classes taught by local instructors. In addition, a prix fixe dinner was also provided with Ryan. All events, classes and workshops focused on healthy living, clean eating, fitness, and fashion for the whole family. McNamee Hosea Welcomes Brett F. Baldino
Brett F. Baldino, a graduate from James Madison University (2012) and University of Baltimore (2015) has joined the Law Firm of McNamee Hosea as their newest associate.
Baldino’s primary areas of practice include Estate Planning, Estate Administration, and Tax Consulting. He has experience drafting powers of attorney, advance medical directives, and various types of Wills and Trusts for clients with diverse needs. Annapolis Design District Block Party
Summer is a time for relaxing, cele ating family and friends, and being outdoors. This was all accomplished during the Annapolis Design District’s fourth annual Summer Block Party. Right in the heart of the district, everyone enjoyed live music, margaritas, delicious burgers, and camaraderie. One of the more popular attractions of the day was the photo booth, by Prismatic Photo Booth. Thank you to the events committee and In Home Stone for hosting the tremendously successful event!

Impact Grant Expands Public Access of the Annapolis Maritime Museum’s Growing Digital Archives

The Annapolis Maritime Museum received a Strategic Impact Grant from the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County to build a virtual database of archives. This timely grant is making a big impact for the Museum’s online collections, and the Museum’s database has already encouraged local historians to submit their private collections for public use.
Over the past month, William Keyworth has been working with dedicated volunteers at the museum to digitize and make public his collection of 37 color Kodak slides with vivid images of skipjacks on the Chesapeake Bay. These impressive photos were captured in the 1970s and 1980s and can now be publicly accessed on the Museum’s website. The museum is now accepting new submissions for the online database, where it will continue to build a local archive of maritime history. Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay Announces Top Environmental Leaders
Every year the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay recognizes unique individuals who are making a significant difference in Chesapeake Bay restoration. On Friday, July 15th, Tom Schueler and Robert Whitescarver were announced to receive the Alliance’s top honors.
Schueler has been selected as the 2016 Environmental Leadership Award winner and will be acknowledged for his pioneering efforts in finding practical and effective approaches to reduce polluted storm water runoff for more than 30 years. Whitescarver has been named the 2016 Watershed Champion of the Year. A watershed restoration scientist, farmer, writer, and educator, he spent 31 years in the field with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service.

Hershel “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Foundation Ground Breaking Ceremony for The Gold Star Families Memorial Monument
Medal of Honor recipient Hershel “Woody” Williams and the Hershel “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Foundation, in cooperation with Governor Larry Hogan, the State of Maryland, the City of Annapolis and the Gold Star Mothers Maryland Chapter (GSFMM) performed a ground eaking ceremony for the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument at the WWII Memorial Outlook in Annapolis. Lt. Governor Boyd Rutherford, Secretary of Veteran Affairs George Owings, Gold Star Mothers Maryland Chapter President and Chaplain, Janice Chance joined Wood in a ceremony on August 15th.
The GSFMM pays tribute to the families who have lost a loved one in the military. The State of Maryland and the City of Annapolis have responded to the call for help and recognition, whether here, at home, or overseas. The GSFMM reminds us of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and to always honor their families, mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, sisters, others, and all relatives.
