Not one but two of Indian Creek School’s faculty members were selected as Top 5 Finalists for the Cite 2016 Award for K-12 Excellence in Online Teaching. First Grade teacher Ms. Sarah Allen, who won the prestigious award, and Upper School Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Program Director Stephen Roth were both selected for this national award. The competition is part of Pearson’s Premier Online Learning Conference that ings together more than 500 innovators from the K-12, higher education, and corporate worlds of online teaching.
Annapolis Film Festival Call for Volunteers
Lights, camera, action! The Annapolis Film Festival cele ates four years of inging a dynamic range of films to Annapolis. They always need volunteers for the four day festival so take action. It is never too late to volunteer. Volunteers are matched with duties that take advantage of their talents and are rewarded for their time with film screening passes. Volunteers who work six hours will receive a special Festival Pass, which allows the pass holder into any screening via the “stand-by” line. Volunteers who work 12 hours or more will receive a Festival Pass, as well as one ticket to any two hour block of programming. All volunteers receive an Annapolis Film Festival t-shirt and are invited to a special “Thank You” Party! Hospice of the Chesapeake welcomes new Director for Chesapeake Life Center and Belcher Institute, Laurie Harrison. Harrison ings her palliative care organization and background in health care and philanthropy to the nonprofit including three years with Major Gifts at Anne Arundel Community College and most recently as Executive Director at Meritus Healthcare Foundation, Inc., in Hagerstown, a position she held for five years. This new position will build the vision of John and Cathy Belcher to establish the institute as a national leader in the fields of advanced complex illness and end-of-life care.
