Book Proceeds to Benefit Breast Cancer Research
David Orso, a top performing Anne Arundel County real estate agent, recently penned the book Step Inside: The Unfiltered Truth about Listing and Selling Your Home. While the goal of helping homeowners understand the real estate market with insider perspective is admirable, it’s what Orso has planned with book sale proceeds that’s also worth praising. Orso will donate 100 percent of the proceeds to support east cancer research at the Anne Arundel Medical Center Research Institute.
“The book is about helping homeowners protect their largest asset—their homes,” Orso says. “I know how important it is to always work with professionals, especially when you are dealing with such a large financial transaction. In Step Inside, I wanted to share my knowledge and the truth about listing and selling your home because honesty and communication are a huge part of being a true professional.”
Orso dedicated the book to his wife, Dawn Orso, who was diagnosed with east cancer in January of 2014. He will donate all proceeds from the sale of the book to AAMC, where he serves on the Building Traditions Society’s Board of Directors and the Pediatric Council.
“I have been involved with AAMC for years and they have been incredibly amazing with the care of my family’s medical needs,” Orso says. “I want them to know that I appreciate their professionalism, expertise, and genuine care.”

Antique & Classic Boat Society donates to CBMM
Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum President Kristen Greenaway, left, was recently presented with an annual fund donation from the Antique & Classic Boat Society’s Chesapeake Bay Chapter member Frank Hopkinson, right. The organization partners with CBMM to ing the Antique & Classic Boat Festival to St. Michaels each Father’s Day weekend. The donation is supporting more on-the-water activities for CBMM guests through a new boat rental program, which is expected to launch this summer. CBMM continues to seek donations to meet its annual fundraising needs, with donations received by Fe uary 28th going toward the museum’s 2014 annual fund. The museum is cele ating its 50th anniversary in 2015, with a kick-off event and an exhibition opening set for Memorial Day weekend on May 23, 2015, the anniversary of the museum’s beginnings.
