brWalking through the doors of Candles Off Main and the ambiance sits just right as the aroma of the beautifully crafted candles captures your senses.
brbrThe walls are filled with colorful and unique jars, holding the carefully and strategically made candles. Placed in the middle of the room is a long table with 48 different jars, almost resembling a science experiment. Three tables are laid out with trays accompanied by a variation of utensils and instruction sheets.

Sixth Annual Chesapeake Beach Stars and Stripes Festival

brSaturday will be the opening ceremony at Veterans’ Memorial Park. With our focus on commemorating the 100th Anniversary of WWI our guest speaker and story teller, Ellouise Schoettler, will perform a one woman show based on her writing from letters of forgotten WWI Nurses who served in France. Sunday Family Fun Day with fun and educational activities for everyone featuring the one and only Doc Scantlin and His Imperial Palms Orchestra. Their music will take you back in time to the 1930’s and make you want to kick off your shoes and jump onto the dance floor. Also on Sunday is a tent for non-profit organizations associated with honoring fallen heroes, wounded warriors, and other military services, a picnic lunch, other fun and educational events for all ages. Monday is the annual Memorial Day Ceremony by the Chesapeake Beach American Legion Post 206 then the National Moment of Silence. Local businesses and all residents of Chesapeake Beach and North Beach are encouraged to decorate to show our local pride and patriotism throughout the Memorial Day Weekend.

brThe Annapolis Memorial Day Parade is a patriotic recognition of those who made the final sacrifice serving our country. The Parade is a service to Annapolis by the Memorial Day Parade Committee and the City of Annapolis. The parade will follow the traditional route down West Street to Church Circle and down Main Street. Memorial Day Ceremony to follow at Susan Campbell Park.
Chillin’ on the Choptank 2017

brThe first annual Chillin’ on the Choptank outdoor festival will be held at Sailwinds Park in Cambridge on Friday evening and Saturday of Memorial Day weekend 2017. The two-day event will feature wine and beer tastings, local oysters and other regional fare, and live music. Proceeds will benefit programming at the Dorchester YMCA and the Dorchester Chamber Foundation. Net proceeds from Chillin’ on the Choptank 2017 ticket sales will go to the Dorchester Family YMCA and the Dorchester Chamber Foundation Scholarship fund.
41st Annual Tea Party Distance Classic and Run for Radcliffe

brThe Chestertown Tea Party Distance Classic has been a part of the Chestertown Tea Party Festival for 40 years. Ten years ago, Radcliffe Creek School took over the management of these runs, with the proceeds benefiting the School’s scholarship fund. The Run is the largest source of funding for this fund. Radcliffe Creek School changes children’s lives, and by participating in the Chestertown Tea Party Half Marathon and 5K Distance Classic/Run for Radcliffe, you are helping make this possible. Whether a student has a learning difference such as dyslexia, ADD/ADHD, executive function disorders, or a speech and language disorder, or would just simply benefit from an individualized environment, a Radcliffe education works.

brEvery Memorial Day weekend, for the past 41 years, Chestertown has celebrated its colonial past with a festival that provides fun for thousands of visitors. The weekend starts on Friday with a Street Party at the foot of High Street. Food and drinks provided by Kent County’s food trucks will be available for purchase. Saturday is the main day of activities. The Colonial Parade begins at 10 a.m. and the Tea Party re-enactment, the highlight of the day, is at 2 p.m. Re-enactors will debate the British actions. Throughout the day, visitors can also enjoy walking tours of the historic district, demonstrations of colonial crafts, a wine village beside the town dock, more than 100 craft vendors, local food, children’s activities, and a wide array of musical entertainers. The festival concludes Sunday, May 28th in Wilmer Park with wine and beer tastings, more entertainment, crafts, and food. The popular Raft Race is the main event at 2 p.m.
Run to Remember Memorial Day 5K

brBenefit the Wicomico War Veterans' Memorial at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center this Memorial Day weekend by taking part in the Run to Remember Memorial Day 5K Run/Walk. The course will be on wooded trails. Refreshments will be available following the race with awards presented to the top male and female finishers in five age categories. Walkers are welcome to take part in all or a portion of the race.

This race is in conjunction with the annual Lions Club Strawberry Festival. There will be food, vendor displays, flea market and craft sales, local non-profits will be open for business, parade at 12 noon, local music performances, shaded seating, free parking and the famous Ridgely Lions Club Strawberry Shortcake & ice cream!

This concert will feature patriotic repertoire, including works that celebrate President Kennedy, such as the "Star Spangled Banner," "America the Beautiful," "The Battle Hymn of the Republic," "Inauguration," and "To the Moon."
