Emmy Award-Winning Comedian Talks Career, Baskets, and Zach Galifianakis
Louie Anderson made his national television debut in 1984 on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, opening several doors for the iconic actor and stand-up comedian.
brThis Minnesota native has taken his comedic humor and turned it into a three-time Emmy Award-Winning comedy performance. Named by Comedy Central as “One of 100 Greatest Stand-Up Comedians of All Time,” Anderson continues to propel his career forward with his newest television comedy series, Baskets.

Gallant: A Breakout Star Worth his “Weight in Gold”

Christopher Gallant is a musical wunderkind. While other 23-year-old millennials may be graduating college or bouncing around internships, Gallant rides a tidal wave of momentum coming off a 2017 Grammy nomination for best Urban Contemporary Album, for his debut studio album Ology, in a class of nominees that included the likes of Rihanna and Beyoncé.
brGrowing up in Columbia, Maryland, Gallant began writing and creating his own songs after school and was inspired by everything, from ’90s R&B to classic jazz and blues. He attended NYU and took summer classes so he could graduate early, eager to truly begin his musical career. His first online release “If It Hurts” would establish him an online presence and cult following, while 2014’s Zebra EP landed him on Spotify’s viral charts.

brUM Baltimore Washington Medical Center is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive in the Dr. Constantine Padussis Conference Center, located on the third floor of the medical center. To give blood, donors must be healthy, at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and not have donated blood in the last 56 days or donated double red cells in the last 112 days. First-time donors should bring their driver’s license or two other forms of identification with them, as well as a list of any medications they are currently taking. Those who have donated before should bring their donor card.

In 2016 Anderson was cast to co-star along with Zach Galifianakis and Martha Kelly in the hit FX comedy series Baskets. Anderson plays the extraordinary role of Christine, the matriarch of the Baskets clan. He based the character on his mother and his five sisters who were all a major presence in his life. Anderson won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Christine Baskets in 2016.

brThe Annual Down River Regatta hosted by the Rock Hall Yacht Club. This is a point to point race, open to all dinghy, one design, or day sailing classes. The race will begin near the Chester River Yacht and Country Club (CRY&CC) dock, run down the Chester River for approximately 12 nm and finish near the entrance to Langford Creek and the Rock Hall Yacht Club (RHYC). The RHYC welcomes all sailors and spectators to enjoy the RHYC facilities, pool, bar, and full menu before, during and after the race.
