× An Inside Scoop with Maryland's Beloved Country Artist, John Luskey
brSouthern Maryland native John Luskey has country built into his bones and pulsing through his veins. His parents instilled in him this passion for music, and by the age of 13 he was a talented guitarist writing his first song. By 18, he was performing often enough to be known throughout many Maryland suburbs.
brOn a weekly basis, Luskey performs at various popular venues in the Maryland and Virginia areas, and plays for private events. The John Luskey Band, composed of Luskey, Jack Bannister (bass) and Dwayne Taylor (drums), has performed with noteworthy artists such as Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, Zac Brown Band, and Sugarland to name a few.
brLuskey currently has a few projects to look forward to. Fans will be happy to know that he will release a fifth album and plans on debuting his new song “Legend of the Blue Dog” at the end of the summer. He is also excited to announce that he’ll be the opening act for the Eli Young Band at the Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa, September 4th.

Hop(e), Skip & Jump 5K and Fun Walk

brJoin Anne Arundel Recreation and Parks for the fifth annual Hop(e), Skip & Jump 5K and Fun Walk at Kinder Farm Park. This is a great event for all ages. The 5k race course is on a series of paved and unpaved trails with scenic views throughout the park. Participants may run or walk and will be timed. The Fun Walk course is a one-mile loop through the park with fun views of the barns and farm animals. Plus, the little ones get to join in for a 25-yard dash for kids up to four years old, a 50-yard dash for kids five and over, a hula hoop contest, and other fun events! The Hop(e), Skip & Jump 5K and Fun Walk are part of their Move More Race Series that benefits Recreation Deeds for Special Needs, a local non-profit whose goal is to make recreational opportunities accessible to all Anne Arundel County residents.

CERT training is open to AAA residents and those who work in the County who are at least 18 years of age (16 and above if accompanied by at least one parent/guardian), and willing to assist those in their community in the event of a major disaster. The training covers general emergency preparedness, triage and basic first aid, light search and rescue, fire suppression and utility shutoff, terrorism, team management and organization, and disaster psychology. Completion of each class is required in order to participate in the final disaster simulation and complete the training.

After a promising stint as a serious baseball player, Anthony renewed his interest in music and studied with some excellent saxophone teachers in Baltimore and Washington D.C. Soon Anthony was developing his smooth jazz saxophone style with local bands in the D.C. and Baltimore metro areas and bands in California on the weekends. Let’s give this Eastern Shore native a warm welcome home when he takes the stage in the Stoltz!

Following in her older sister’s footsteps, Mackenzie has been dancing since the age of two. 2017 marked the start of live touring for Mackenzie as she embarked on the “Day & Night” tour with Johnny Orlando.
