Each year MTC’s Policy and Leadership Dinner connects business leaders from the technology and life science industries with policymakers in Annapolis. This is a must-attend event where executives, MTC’s Board of Directors and members from the Maryland General Assembly come together to discuss important policy issues. Join us on January 18th for a cocktail reception followed by a plated dinner. Governor Larry Hogan has confirmed his attendance and will provide the keynote address.

A myriad of practitioners and artists will be here to offer lovely self-care via mini sessions of chair massage, reflexology, makeovers, angel card readings, and more. Award-winning Australian artist and visionary intuitive Christalene Karaiskakis will be doing a live "henna crown" as part of her healing through body art project. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Step into the enchanted world of Broadway's modern classic, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, an international sensation that has played to over 35 million people worldwide in 13 countries. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature, the stage version includes all of the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice.

Back on the road with their catalog of classic hits as well as new favorites, The Smithereens return to Rams Head On Stage for two shows this winter. The seminal New Jersey rockers are picking up right where they left off: with irresistibly catchy hooks and rapturously fuzzed-out guitars.

For over four decades, Blue Oyster Cult has been thrilling fans of intelligent hard rock worldwide with powerful albums loaded with classic songs. For over two decades, Cowboy Mouth has dished up its unique style of rock & roll gumbo, mixing a rowdy spirit reflective of the band's hometown -- New Orleans -- with the fierce firepower of a group that lives on the road. These Louisiana natives have played more than 2,500 concerts and launched their signature song, "Jenny Says," into the upper half of the Billboard rock charts. Above all else, they earned a well-deserved rep as a raucous, redemptive, live music experience.
Lone Star Championship Rodeo

The Lone Star Rodeo Company presents a championship rodeo event! The championship event features a full rodeo lineup including bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, cowgirls' breakaway roping, steer wrestling, team roping, cowgirls' barrel racing, and bull riding. The rodeo is co-sanctioned with the American Professional Rodeo Association and features professional and local cowboys and cowgirls from all over the region.
Family Photography Workshop
Saturday, January 20th, 1-2:30 p.m.
The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is inviting guests to its St. Michaels campus for a Family Photography Workshop. Families will be able to explore the work of Robert de Gast to learn some of the photographic principles that make his images so captivating, and take their own de Gast-inspired pictures using their smartphones or cameras on CBMM’s campus. All participants must register in advance.
Cover your Chin for Charity

If you’re into bearded, burly men strutting their stuff onstage and you like supporting local charities, mark your calendars for the fifth annual Cover your Chin for Charity closing ceremony at the Waterfowl Building. This charitable beard growing contest has been called “The best party in Easton” four years running and kicked off in October when men shaved their facial fuzz and put away their razor for three months of scruffiness to raise money for local charities. Anyone who donates will receive a ticket to the party, which includes awards for many categories, including the grower who collects the most donations.
Classic Albums Live Series: Led Zeppelin II

Engineering Industry: Future City Career Fair
Saturday, January 20th, 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Meet urban planners, builders, architects, and preservationists during the Maryland Engineering Challenge “Future City” competition for middle school students.
More than 10,000 people from across the state will plunge into the chilly Chesapeake Bay at Sandy Point State Park raising money for Special Olympics Maryland. This Plungefest is more than jumping into cold water. There will be live music, a VIP suite, activities for all ages, and the satisfaction of freezing your fur off to benefit a great cause.
There will be three different plunges. The Cool Schools Plunge will take place on Thursday, January 25th, the Police and Corporate Plunge on Friday, January 26th, and The Polar Bear Plunge on Saturday, January 27th. Participants are required to pay or pledge a minimum of $75, but are encouraged to fundraise more. You can register for any of the three plunges here.
Are you brave enough to take a dip into the 30-degree bay? Come find out and celebrate 22 years of the “coolest” Maryland tradition at Sandy Point State Park.
