More than 10,000 people from across the state will plunge into the chilly Chesapeake Bay at Sandy Point State Park raising money for Special Olympics Maryland. The Polar Bear Plunge is the largest state-wide fundraiser with four different plunges to participate in, including the Cool Schools Plunge, Police and Corporate Plunge, and the Polar Bear Plunge. This Plungefest is more than jumping into cold water. There will be live music, a VIP suite, activities for all ages, and the satisfaction of freezing your fur off to benefit a great cause. The Annapolis Maritime Museum will host its annual Winter Lecture Series Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. from January through March 2018.
