Lights on the Bay

brThis light show is a two-mile scenic drive, along the shore of the Chesapeake Bay with more than 60 spectacular animated, and stationary displays illuminating the roadways. The event has become a family tradition, featuring seasonal, whimsical, and regional displays that will delight all ages. Proceeds from the event will benefit the SPCA of Anne Arundel County.
Women Artists of the West (WAOW)

brThe McBride Gallery in downtown Annapolis, known as one of the most historic cities in America, is hosting Women Artists of the West’s 47th National Juried Exhibition; the oldest most revered juried women’s arts organization in the country. McBride Gallery is a classic representational gallery. Gallery artists cover a range of subjects and styles including American Impressionist, Tonalist, Dutch Old Master, Folk Art, Trompe l’Oeil, and Luminist. Major subject themes are landscape, marine, still life, and figurative work.
Annapolis Turkey Trot 5K Fun Run

brAn annual tradition continues! Runners of all ages are invited to gobble up the Fleet Feet Sports Turkey Trot 5K Fun Run on Thanksgiving Day. This 11th annual fun run is a gorgeous tour of downtown Annapolis and benefits local charities. This run grows every year and 2017 promises to be big. Fun for the whole family–strollers, kids, and dogs are welcome! Homemade pumpkin bread and prizes are given for best Turkey Day costumes too!

Grand Illumination: Annapolis Tree Lighting
brWith support from the Annapolis business community, the Annapolis Jaycees (Junior Chamber of Commerce) will once again host the Lighting of the Tree in Annapolis during the city’s Grand Illumination event. Watch Santa arrive in town and enjoy singing and dance performances by area youth. The Jaycees will provide refreshments and ornaments children can use to decorate the tree. Attendees are invited to bring nonperishable food items and new, unwrapped toys for the Jaycees’ annual Angel Tree Project.

The Great Turkey Chase

brThe Kent Island Running Group will again welcome runners, walkers, families, and out-of-town guests to The Great Turkey Chase, the largest Thanksgiving race on the Eastern Shore for the past five years. This family-friendly event, held on Thanksgiving morning, offers a scenic two-mile or five-mile course through the Scottish-Hills setting at Hunter's Oak Golf Club. Proceeds from the event support several local charities.
Turkey Trek 5K

brGobble up the trails Thanksgiving morning at the ninth annual Turkey Trek 5K at Pemberton Historical Park. The course takes runners and walkers on Pemberton Park’s trails, through forests, meadows and wetlands. Refreshments and holiday pie will be available after the race. There will also be a Gobbler Goodie for all finishers.
Chestertown Antiques Show & Sale

brNow in its 54th year, the Chestertown Antiques Show & Sale is a high point of the Thanksgiving holiday in Chestertown. Once again, the show will feature past favorites and new dealers alike, with a great variety of specialties, all in town to support Kent Association of Riding Therapy (KART), a 501 c 3 non-profit dedicated to providing therapeutic horseback riding to special needs children and adults.
Festival of Trees
brCelebrate “All that Glitters” at the 32nd annual Festival of Trees presented by the Friends of Hospice. The Festival of Trees begins on Friday with a celebratory Preview Party (Friday) in the Gold Ballroom of The Tidewater Inn, cocktail reception with hors d’oeuvres, music, and special raffles. Festival of Trees will also include a Homes Tour (Saturday & Sunday), Candy Cane Lane (Saturday), Mother-Son Dance (Saturday), and a Daddy-Daughter Dance (Saturday).
An Evening with George Winston
brWith a career spanning nearly 50 years, George Winston is one of the most recognized and celebrated solo pianists on the globe – selling more than 15 million albums worldwide. Since the release of his debut album, “Ballads and Blues” in 1972, Winston has released 14 solo recordings. His latest, “Spring Carousel: A Cancer Research Benefit”, will directly benefit City of Hope, a not-for-profit clinical research center in California. Winston composed the album as he was in recovery from a bone marrow transplant for Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS).

Western Shore
Symphony of Lights
brSymphony of Lights, a drive-through spectacle of more than 100 larger-than-life holiday light displays, a laser light show, and a 3-D holiday video projected 50 feet high, is now open in Merriweather Park at Symphony Woods. Light displays, both animated and stationary, glow with a total of 300,000 LED lights. During drive-throughs, which will take place Tuesdays through Sundays, visitors can listen to seasonal music on the Symphony of Lights FM radio frequency. In addition, Symphony of Lights will present a series of special events including a Dazzle Dash, Twinkling Tots, Tail Lights, Midnight at 7, and Military appreciation nights. Symphony of Lights benefits Howard County General Hospital.
Annual Turkey Trot 5K

Turkey Chase Charity Race
brWhile others are putting turkeys in the oven or nestling on the couch watching the Macy’s Day Parade, runners of all ages will be celebrating the spirit of giving at the YMCA Camp Letts Turkey Chase Charity Race There will be a kid’s race (8:30 a.m.), where your little racer can compete against the Turkey Mascot, a competitive 10K race (10:30 a.m.), and a 5k run/walk (8:45 a.m.). What makes this race so special? You’ll have the opportunity to test your fitness against the Turkey Mascot, who runs every step of the 5K.

To spice things up this year, Psycho Killers has partnered with Union Craft Brewing and there will be plenty of craft beer flowing from Baltimore’s best brewery.
