The weather is heating up, and so is Maryland’s music scene. With the busyness of the summer months approaching, it’s hard to keep track of all the great musicians and concerts coming to the area. Bloom is a four-week Westfield event featuring live makeup tutorials, product and food demos with sampling, hand massages, and more from our top retailers, restaurants, and eateries.
Volunteers on the Run 5K – Quiet Waters Park
Saturday, April 28th, 9 a.m.
Junior League of Annapolis, Inc. (JLA) will host its 11th annual Jennifer Summers Barrett Memorial Volunteers on the Run 5K fundraiser event at Quiet Waters Park. New this year is a phantom runner option for those unable to attend, but want to support the event. Open to the public, the proceeds from the fun run will benefit the community programs of JLA. The fun run is open to those of all ability levels – from experienced runners to strollers and anyone in between!
2018 Annapolis Book Festival – The Key School
Saturday, April 28th, 10 a.m.–3 p.m.
The Annapolis Book Festival is one of the premier community events in the region. Every year more than 3,000 people attend this free community Festival that celebrates the beauty, power, passion, and excitement of the written word. Now in its sixteenth year, the Annapolis Book Festival brings nationally renowned authors to The Key School in Annapolis, Maryland, to discuss their books and the craft of writing. The Festival also features children's activities, live music, refreshments, and new and used book sales.
30th Annual Vocal Competition – Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts
Saturday, April 28th, 10 a.m. and Sunday, April 29th, 3 p.m.
Join the Annapolis Opera as it presents the 30th Annual Vocal Competition at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts. This competition provides opera students and young professionals in the Mid-Atlantic region the opportunity to hone their craft by performing for a blue-ribbon panel of judges and a chance to be discovered for upcoming Annapolis Opera productions. The competition is strong, with the eight finalists selected from more than 100 outstanding applicants.
Denim & Diamonds – Anne Arundel Medical Center Hospital Pavilion South
Saturday, April 28th, 6–11 p.m.
Don’t miss Annapolis’ event of the year under the stars at Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation’s Denim & Diamonds on the hospital’s South Campus. Denim & Diamonds is a night filled with fun, food, and dancing under the stars. The spring bash tent party will feature cuisine from Ken Upton Catering, gourmet food trucks, live music, and a silent auction and raffle. From your favorite pair of jeans to your best cocktail dress, everything is “in” at Denim & Diamonds. The event will benefit the expansion of mental health services at AAMC.
24th Annual Dinner & Auction – The Byzantium Event Center

The South Shore Elementary School PTA will host our largest fundraising event of the year Play like a Panda: 24th Annual Dinner, Dance and Auction. This annual event is a time for our families and community to come together to raise important funds to support the children in our community. The Paint the Town event is popular with plein air artists all over the mid-Atlantic region because of the natural beauty of our area, with its many waterways and farm fields, historic buildings, gardens, and wonderful skyscapes. Artists paint the local scene for three days and make their paintings available for sale at the Wet Paint Reception and Sale on Saturday at the RiverArts Gallery
Maryland International Kite Expo – Ocean City Boardwalk
Friday, April 27th through Sunday, April 29th, 9 a.m.
Ocean City, Maryland and The Kite Loft welcome you to come and fly on the beautiful beaches along our famous boardwalk! The Maryland International Kite Exposition will feature three fun filled days of kite flying on the beautiful beaches of Ocean City, Maryland. Throughout the festival, there will be exhibitions and demonstrations including stunt and power kite lessons, free children's games and activities, and much more! The festival will showcase some of the best kite flyers from around the world. Kites of all shapes and sizes will be on display including some massive character and theme-based kites. Bring your family for several days of good old fashion kite flying.
Bay Bridge Boat Show – Bay Bridge Marina, Stevensville

Kick off your boating season at the Bay Bridge Boat Show. The largest in-water boat show north of Florida will feature more than 400 powerboats from 7 to 70 feet including an impressive collection of fishing boats, center consoles, trawlers, express cruisers, pontoon boats, luxury cruisers, jet skis, jet boats, ski boats, bowriders, inflatables, kayaks, SUPs, and canoes. Benedictine Spring Benefit – Tidewater Inn, Easton

Join the Benedictine Foundation as they host their anticipated Spring Benefit gala, “A Night in the Wild West” at the Tidewater Inn. The annual event raises funds for the more than 200 children and adults with developmental disabilities served by Benedictine Programs and Services. This year will feature a posh Victorian saloon theme complete with a live medicine show and a rousing saloon piano.
24th Annual Oxford Day – Town of Oxford

Oxford Day is a one-day family-oriented celebration of life in a small town on the Eastern Shore. Those who have experienced it know that the town resounds with family, community spirit and fun. It is organized solely by volunteers and supported by residents, businesses, government, and non-profits with participation in the day by all.
Winefest at St. Michaels – St. Michaels
Saturday, April 28th and Sunday, April 29th, 12–5 p.m.
WineFest at St. Michaels is Maryland’s premier international wine event. Wine lovers can taste and purchase over 400 domestic and international wines, enjoy delicious gourmet foods, and the charming hospitality of historic St. Michaels. The two-day event will include tasting experiences from small venues highlighting local Maryland wineries to larger venues with 50 or more featured wines. For serious wine connoisseurs, the VIP packages include a tasting cruise aboard The Patriot and exclusive tastings at The Old Brick Inn.
Sixth Annual Sporting Clays Classic – The Point at Pintail

Join Wellness House of Annapolis at The Point at Pintail for their Sixth Annual Sporting Clays Classic! The Summit School will host a casual evening of Maryland inspired culinary experiences as we fundraise for the school. The event will feature a cocktail reception with wine and spirit tasting, gourmet food stations prepared with regional wines and ingredients, an open bar and dancing, followed by desserts and coffee. The 2018 TASTE is Summit’s annual fundraising event. Enjoy a spectacular evening of fine wine, gourmet food, dancing, a beautiful Chesapeake Bay sunset, family, friends and, importantly, successful and rewarding fundraising for The Summit School.
Riva 5K Run & Walk 2018 – Annapolis Landing Park, Riva

The Riva 5K Run & Walk is a fun community event in Riva, Maryland. This is the 4th annual event led by volunteers from: Berkshire, Annapolis Landing and Waterford to foster community bonds and to raise money for a local charity. Proceeds and all donations from the event will benefit the Assistance League of the Chesapeake in 2018.
National Wine & Food Festival – National Harbor
Saturday, April 28th, 1–6 p.m.
Join in the excitement at the 10th Annual Wine and Food Festival at National Harbor. Bringing together world-renowned chefs, artisanal craftsmen, and culinary pioneers with thousands of Metro D.C.’s foodies, the event is not to be missed!
