Annapolis, MD - The Visit Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Foundation (VAAACF) has partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County (BGCAA) to provide tourism and hospitality experiences as part of the BGCAA’s Summer Camp program at the Wiley H. Bates Clubhouse in Annapolis. On Tuesday, July 22 the summer campers enjoyed tours on land and sea to learn more about the maritime history of the Chesapeake Bay and why Annapolis is a must-see destination. The day began with a “colonial stroll” walking tour followed by one of Watermark’s signature harbor cruises. The event is the third in a series of Summer Camp experiences in which VAAACF has partnered with BGCAA to provide additional tourism and hospitality-focused experiences throughout Anne Arundel County.
BGCAA’s Summer camp serves kids aged six to 12 from June 30 to August 15. For over 35 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County have filled the gap between school and home, serving more than 3,500 young people each year through membership and community outreach. BGCAA is dedicated to ensuring that the community's youth and teens have greater access to quality programs and services that will enhance and shape their future. BGCAA’s seven Clubhouses and Club on the Go mobile program provide critical out-of-school and summer programming for youths aged six to 18 across the community with a focus on academic support, good character and leadership, health and wellness, and workforce readiness.
