To gain access to Rosaryville State Park, make a right turn into the entrance just south of Osborne Road while traveling south on U.S. 301. The park is also the location of the historic Mount Airy Mansion. Parties, great and small, weddings, births and visits from seven presidents have left their mark, lending a wonderful feeling of expectancy to this lovely old home.
The park offers deer bow-hunting only. Be sure to consult your Maryland Guide to Hunting and Trapping for season dates and bag limits.
Hunters may enter/remain on park property outside of the regular posted hours provided that they are engaged in legitimate, authorized hunting activity.

Dans Mountain, Garrett County
Perched high upon on a 16-mile long mountain in Lonaconing, Maryland, Dans Mountain State Park is the perfect place to cool down on a hot summer day. The 481-acre park features a fully accessible swimming pool, four large group pavilions, a recycled-tire playground and a peaceful pond for fishing. Consumption of alcohol is prohibited, except when an alcohol permit is purchased for the pavilions at time of reservation.
Dans Mountain State Park is named for Daniel Cresap, one of the first settlers in Allegany County. Daniel was known for being adventurous, often hunting with a Delaware Indian named Nemacolin. While pursuing a bear in a tree, Daniel fell and lay unconscious until Nemacolin found him, and dragged Daniel home to safety. Since that event, the mountain has been known as Dans Mountain.
