November 11th, 11 a.m.; Downtown Annapolis, Memorial Circle
Veterans Day is on Thursday the 11th of November and there will be a short parade around Memorial Circle at the City Dock. The Silent Drill Team, Jolly Rogers, from the Naval Academy will perform in the parking spaces on Main Street across from Memorial Circle. The list of invitees consists of all local Veteran VSO's, Police, Fire Fighters, federal, state and local officials. All veterans are invited. The City of Annapolis provides traffic/police control during this time. The ceremony is no longer than an hour and begins at 11 a.m. After the ceremony, all veterans are then invited to lunch at the Fleet Reserve Club, 100 Compromise Street, Annapolis, MD.
November 12th through 14th; Easton
The 50th Anniversary of the Waterfowl Festival will take place in historic Easton, Maryland on November 12-14, 2021. More than 15,000 visitors are expected to experience a time-honored Eastern Shore tradition that pays homage to the annual migration of geese through the Atlantic Flyway and supports wildlife conservation throughout the region. The thousands of geese that fill the skies during the event each year are a vivid reminder for visitors of the Festival’s mission. Rain or shine, the Waterfowl Festival holds a multitude of attractions for all ages, whatever their interests may be.
Trioka Gallery Anniversary Group Show

Triple Crown of Charity Sailing
November 12th, 5:30 p.m.; Market House, Annapolis City Docks
Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating (CRAB), The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and Hospice organizations will award the Triple Crown of Charity Sailing Trophy on Friday, November 12th at The Market House in Annapolis. A light hors d’oeuvres and cash bar reception will start at 5:30 pm with the trophy presentation to the winning skipper at 6 pm. The jointly promoted charity sailing races, respectively known as The Leukemia Cup, The CRAB Cup, and The Hospice Cup, were held in June, August and September this year. In 2018, the Triple Crown of Charity Sailing Trophy was created to promote greater skipper participation in all three races and to enhance fundraising support for the respective charities.
The 48th Annual Maryland Irish Festival

Be Irish for a day at the 48th Annual Maryland Irish Festival, set for November 12-14, 2021 at the Timonium Fairgrounds; from 6-11 p.m. on Friday; 12 noon – 11 p.m. on Saturday and on Sunday from 12 noon - 6 p.m. (festival will comply with any and all health related guidelines) There will be plenty of traditional Irish food & drink, internationally recognized musical groups, children’s activities, cultural exhibits from Ireland, festive contests, a speaker series and various vendors all contained in the spacious Cow Palace. LET'S GO Boys and Girls and the Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis will present, for the first time ever, a Community STEM Fest at the Eastport Community Center on Saturday, November 13th, from 1-3 p.m. to benefit Eastport youth and families. This event is free to the public. The goal is to increase community awareness of science, technology, engineering, and math and inspire youth to seek STEM professions in the future.

The Oxford Community Center’s (OCC) Board of Trustees confirm that the Model Boat Show will happen with careful Covid-19 safety precautions in place. The event will be a hybrid exhibit and sales welcoming regional modelers to showcase mostly outdoors in a tented environment surrounded by additional fall festivities. The Model Boat Show (MBS) will be held on Saturday, November 13th from 10am – 4pm at the OCC. The models represent the historic and cultural background of the Chesapeake Bay, the eastern shore and waterman life. Ed Theiler, the producer of the show says the show “brings together in one delightful, comfortable, setting, modelers who combine careful research, skillful craftsmanship, and artistic expression, across the broad range of boat modeling.” The MBS continues its tradition coinciding with Easton’s Waterfowl Festival.

The fifth annual Hammond-Harwood House Collectors’ Day will focus on how the reverence for George Washington influenced American decorative arts in the early nineteenth century. Since the creation of the United States, George Washington has been an iconic figure. Revered during his lifetime for his bravery leading the Continental Army and helping shape American democracy, his popularity has endured to this day. After his death, commemorative objects helped his countrymen and women to mourn. Prints, jugs, clocks, and other pieces produced with his image adorned the homes of early Americans and several items, like a French-made clock and a porcelain punch bowl, can be found in the Hammond-Harwood House collection. Collectors’ Day will feature two expert scholars, an optional themed Washington tour, and a curated wine and appetizer reception in the garden.
Tidewater Inn Brew & Oyster Brawl

The historic Tidewater Inn – a timelessly refined hotel ideally situated in the heart of downtown Easton on Maryland’s Eastern Shore – announces the official launch of ticket sales for the annual Tidewater Inn Brew & Oyster Brawl scheduled on Saturday, November 13th, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Kicking off the celebration, the Brew and Oyster Brawl will feature live music by one of the Eastern Shore’s favorite bands since 1973, Bird Dog and the Road Kings, and oysters prepared every which way will be presented – including stationed raw oysters harvested by local watermen, savory chowder, oysters flash-fried to perfection and chargrilled oysters with infused flavors like lemon parsley butter and buffalo bleu cheese. Additionally, an open beer and wine bar will offer regional, craft, domestic and imported brews, along with a selection of wines, to pair with savory oyster dishes.
BSO Presents the Sea and the Light

New Zealand-born conductor Gemma New, recently named the 2021 recipient of The Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award, leads a program of works that draw inspirations from art and the sea. Mendelssohn’s The Hebrides Overture and Debussy’s La mer take listeners on a journey through the misty winds and waves of Scottish and French seas. Kevin Puts’ The Brightness of Light pulls emotions from letters exchanged between painter Georgia O’Keeffe and her husband, photographer Alfred Stieglitz. Paired with stunning visuals from the couple, opera superstars Renée Fleming and Rod Gilfry give voice to O’Keeffe and Stieglitz.
