BSO Presents Beethoven Symphony No. 7

Ligeti’s Concert Românesc, which draws from folk music he studied at the Folklore Institute of Bucharest, opens the program. Tracy Silverman elevates the electric violin in Adams’ The Dharma at Big Sur, a piece written specifically for him by Pulitzer Prize-winner John Adams. American conductor Ryan Bancroft leads the orchestra with Beethoven’s remarkable Seventh Symphony on the second half.

Join Chief Smith and officers of the St. Michaels Police Department to discuss the Town’s Mask Ordinance, as well as other law enforcement issues encountered during the COVID-19 pandemic. Come to a relaxing paint night at our clubhouse on the South River in Edgewater. We will walk you through, step by step, in creating this beautiful painting of a pup admiring the sky. There will be some sparkles involved, and... you can even substitute your own pup for the lab in the painting if you would like. The painting is totally yours. If you would like to paint a dog other than the lab, you will need to send us a profile pic of your pup in advance so we can prep the canvas for you. Pictured below are some pics from our recent events! Best of all, we will donate 20% of the proceeds to one of our local animal welfare charities. Some snacks and beverages will be provided, or feel free to bring your own! You can also come a little early and order dinner from The Pier Restaurant next door. Ticket sales close early for this event so we have time to prep the canvases for you. See you then!

The friends of the Library hold their Monthly Book Sale at the Cambridge location of the Dorchester County Library on the second Saturday of the month from 9am to 1pm. They offer a wide range of fiction, history, cooking, gardening, non-fiction and more at bargain prices.
Second Saturday in Downtown Cambridge
January 9th, 5 p.m.; Downtown Cambridge
This monthly celebration in downtown Cambridge features an Art Walk with free art gallery receptions, as well as specials in the independently owned shops and great dining. Shops and galleries are open all day and into the evening, most until 8 or 9pm. The Art Walk starts at 5pm. Live music is on tap at several restaurants later in the evening. As always on Second Saturday, downtown’s restaurants will be busy, so call ahead with your dining reservations. Plenty of free parking. Updated info at DowntownCambridge.org.
Digital Photography Club Annapolis Meeting
