This spring, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum will be hosting a hybrid virtual and in-person workshop designed to teach you how to grow your own oysters. Held via Zoom from 6–7pm on March 18 and on CBMM’s St. Michaels, Md., campus from 10am–noon on March 20, this oyster gardening program will provide attendees with all the information needed to successfully grow oysters off their own dock. Participants may register for just the virtual program for $25 or for both sessions for $200, with a 20% discount offered to CBMM members on both options.

Introduction to Chesapeake Native Plants

In keeping with their commitment to education and advocacy, Homestead Gardens has opened their new Native Habitat Center where they have carefully selected meaningful plant material of over 360 varieties of perennials, shrubs and trees.

Since 1903 Maryland has had an official day of celebrating its history on Maryland Day. In the Four Rivers Heritage Area of Anne Arundel County, the organization will be honoring Maryland's history, heritage, and culture, using a theme "Better Together" with events at 20 area locations. Most of the events will be held the weekend of March 19 – 21, 2021. "These family-friendly events will explore how our state's history, heritage, and culture has handled diversity, equity, and inclusion." Says Erik Evans, the events Marketing Director. To make the events as accessible to the public as possible, all Maryland Day events in Anne Arundel County will again this year are free or $1 admission. This year due to COVID safety protocols there are options for both in-person events throughout Anne Arundel County at historic and culturally significant sites and online events.
Spring Equinox Sets Stage for ASO's String Serenades

The Annapolis Symphony Orchestra celebrates the arrival of spring with String Serenades, the fourth virtual performance in the Symphony’s Masterworks Series, on Saturday, March 20, at 8 pm, from Maryland Hall. “We wanted to give the spring equinox a pivotal significance at this point in our lives,” said ASO Music Director Maestro José-Luis Novo. “Our program echoes both the reflective and the hopeful moods in which we will likely find ourselves at this stage of the season and the pandemic as we look forward to an imminently brighter future.”
Yoga on the Farm Series: Spring Solstice

Welcome Spring at Wildberry Farm with a morning yoga session among our wildflower fields! Annapolis local, YogiAllie will be teaching one class a month in a series that will run March thru November at Wildberry Farm + Market. We will be set up outdoors at Wildberry Farm + Market for a morning session of movement and stretching through an energizing yoga session lead by Allie. Social distancing will be observed, and we will have plenty of space to spread out!
Maryland Federation of Art's Collector's Choice

We’re hosting a Spring Edition of this fast, fun art lottery where every ticket holder gets an original artwork of their choice. The event is part in-person, part virtual. Collector’s Choice is a great way to add to your art collection while supporting one of the best nonprofit galleries in the mid-Atlantic region. The event will be held LIVE via Zoom on March 21.
