The COVID-19 pandemic is ever-changing and we will be continuously monitoring the situation and adjusting our plan as needed to ensure the health and safety of our community. There is so much to do at Sandy Point State Park during the Polar Bear Plunge... getting in the water is not required! Join Special Olympics Maryland at Sandy Point State Park from February 3rd-5th and enjoy Plungefest. Spend the day jamming out with Special Olympics Maryland athletes in the heated Ice Lodge tent and watch Plungers bear the cold. Fuel up on local food vendors and stay warm with Wawa hot chocolate and various beers and wines. Explore Plunge Plaza and learn all about how the MSP Polar Bear Plunge benefits Special Olympics Maryland!
Charles Willson Peale in Annapolis on Maryland Day 2022
March 24th, 6-8 p.m.; Hammond-Harwood House, Annapolis
Hammond-Harwood House is participating in Maryland Day celebration 2022 ''Discover New Stories” with in-person, free tours of the new exhibition, ''Ambition: Charles Willson Peale in Annapolis” in the gallery and exhibition room in the main house. This exhibition will follow Peale’s Annapolis commissions chronologically with twenty-five portraits, including eight loans from institutions like Yale University Art Gallery, the Baltimore Museum of Art, and the state of Maryland.
Maryland Day Celebration at Historic Linthicum Walks
March 25th through 27th; Linthicum Walks, Crofton
Historic Linthicum Walks will open its doors and grounds to visitors March 25, 26 and 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The weekend-long celebration will feature tours of the 1700’s historic home and its grounds, which include a family graveyard and framed meat house, both dating back to the 1800s. In addition to tours, visitors can take part in a Maryland themed outdoor scavenger hunt, interact with people in historic dress and play children’s games that were popular in the 1700’s. Admission to the event is $1 per person.
Children's Chorus of Maryland Now Auditioning for Fall 2022
March 25th, 3 - 6 p.m.; Children's Chorus of Maryland & School of Music, Towson
Audition sign-ups are now live online! Children ages 5 ½ to 12 are invited to audition for the 2022-2023 Conservatory Season starting in September. Combining nurturing play-based learning with ten levels of educational achievement, CCM’s School of Music provides a solid musical foundation that students carry throughout their lives. Young choristers attend small-group music classes led by highly-trained instructors, all of whom hold master’s degrees in music education. Students also participate in choir rehearsals each week with our Artistic Director, one on one meetings during the semester for individualized feedback on singing development, as well as performance opportunities throughout the year. Auditions will be conducted on zoom in a friendly, playful session that lasts about 20 minutes. Parents are encouraged to sit in and observe. Included with the audition fee is our special welcome Sneak Peek E-Package, which includes a sample audition, lesson examples, and fun songs to learn at home!

Join MC3 as we celebrate veterans and the Annapolis National Cemetery. This historic cemetery is in full view of the outdoor terrace at the MC3 and offers a prominent visual reminder and remembrance of the sacrifice of our veterans. MC3 will hang a full length blank paper mural across the overlook. Using the medium of their choice, visitors will be invited to leave their mark on the mural through written messages, artwork, poems, photographs, etc. related to their own personal connection with the veteran and active duty military community. The mural will also include historical information related to the Annapolis National Cemetery and how it directly impacted the Annapolis community we live and work in today. After the mural is complete it will be displayed for Maryland Day weekend.

Harriet Tubman Women of Courage and Maryland Day

Maryland Day: Guided Contee Farm History Hike on the SERC Campus
March 26th, 9:30 a.m.; Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, Edgewater
Join Scenic Rivers Land Trust staff for an in-person guided hike of the conserved Contee Farm portion of the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in Edgewater on Saturday, March 26 at 9:30 am. Learn the history of the land and take in spectacular views of forest, farmland, and the Rhode River. All ages welcome, but be aware that we will be hiking through fields and on unpaved paths. Pets are not permitted on the SERC campus. Length: 2-4 miles. This event is free, but registration is required and space is limited.
Eastern Shore Community Rowers Information Session

Ever wondered about those skinny boots on the river? We are fortunate in Easton to have a local rowing club. We are adults of all ages (18-88!) and all levels of proficiency from novices to competitive rowers. In addition to regular coached rows, every year we teach people who have never been in a crew boat to row. Come meet the coaches, learn about the club, and how you can give it a try!
The Faith Filled Women Conference
March 26th, 10 a.m.; Wicomico Youth & Civic Center, Salisbury
The Faith Filled Women Conference is set for Saturday, March 26, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Wicomico Civic Center. In addition to our awesome keynote speaker, Sandra Stanley, we have brilliant breakout speakers teaching on a variety of subjects, inspiring praise music, delicious food, fun vendors, and tons of God-loving girl time. This conference is for women of all ages, stages, denominations and walks of life who want to live out their faith and purpose. Early bird tickets, with orders postmarked no later than Jan. 15, 2022, are $60, and regular admission tickets are $65. A premium table for eight can be purchased for $600.
The Londontowne Symphony Orchestra: All Together Now

The Londontowne Symphony Orchestra, directed by Music Director/Conductor Dr. Anna Binneweg, is a community orchestra that provides high quality classical and light classical music to mid-Maryland audiences at an affordable price. The orchestra is made up of professional, military, amateur and student musicians who love making enjoyable music for themselves and for others. The music performed at each concert is focused around a theme that supports a local community organization.

ArtFest is a proud part of Four Rivers Heritage Area's Maryland Day Celebration, a three day weekend full of great family activities across heritage sites throughout Annapolis and Anne Arundel County. The Naval Academy Band Showcase at Maryland Hall ArtFest

The U.S. Naval Academy Band will close out Maryland Hall's annual ArtFest celebration with a performance showcasing its many ensembles. Under the leadership of Commander Diane E. Nichols, the eclectic program will feature various music styles from chamber music to jazz. Included in the show are works by J.S. Bach, François Devienne, Dave Brubeck, and the winning composers of the band’s 2021 ‘Call for Scores’ competition.
