Monday (Memorial Day) at 4:00 PM. In lieu of parade, at 5:00 PM the OVFC Honor Guard will have a short ceremony to present colors and have a reading in honor of Memorial Day. All you can ride bracelets will be available every night. Come and enjoy great food, fantastic funnel cakes, games, and seeing old friends.

May 26th; Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, St Michael
The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, Md., is proud to announce that it has officially opened its newest exhibition, Dove Tales, and invites the public to join in the celebration at an opening event on Thursday, May 26. Dove Tales explores the sources that reveal the history, construction, and cultural significance of Maryland Dove. From the tercentenary representation to the 1970s and current iteration, the vessels have served as important interpretive tools, connecting Marylanders to the far-reaching impacts of 17th century colonization, and with boatbuilding as a living historical tradition in the Chesapeake region. The exhibition will remain on display in CBMM’s Steamboat building through the end of December.

Help CBMM celebrate Maryland Dove with a dock party! Campus opens on May 28 at 10am, and the festivities start at 11am. Food, drinks, and live music will be on site and CBMM’s shipwrights will give talks throughout the day on the various skills and processes they employed to construct Maryland Dove. At 2pm, officials from CBMM and Historic St. Mary’s City will lead us in a toast to the ship, which is nearing completion and will remain in St. Michaels throughout the summer.

90-minute guided tour of the house that compares the customs and social graces of the Loockerman family, who lived in the Hammond-Harwood House in the early 19th century, with those of characters in Jane Austen novels.

Whoof on the Wharf Grand Reopening Party

Come celebrate with Whoof on the Wharf as we kick off the summer season with the opening of our brand new clubhouse space at Pier 7 Marina. This event is also a fund raiser for Whoof Park, a 10 acre, 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog park in the works in Anne Arundel County. Enjoy vendors including a pop up shop by Salty Dog and Sweet Pea Swag, raffles (including a kayak raffle!), photos, doggy ice cream and other treats for pups, demo by Dynamic Doga, animal ambassadors with Echoes by Nature, and a cash bar by Wine Key Experience, who will be serving up a special new crush drink just for us: I've Got a Dog Crush! And, drum roll . . . the grand debut of Smash Up Burgers food truck, a brand new food truck on the scene in the Annapolis area, and their first time out after a huge success on Kick Starter! Well behaved pups on leashes are welcome.

Wear your red, white, and blue to honor our Veteran’s Service at the Annual Strawberry Chase 5K. There will be costume prizes for the best theme-dressed. Water stops and refreshments provided. The course is a flat loop including the town’s rail trail and scenic farmland west of Ridgely. Start and finish is at Martin Sutton Park. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. on 4th Street near the skate park and the race starts at 8 a.m. Cost is $20 through May 27; $25 after May 27 or for “Sleepwalker” registration (“run in your dreams” from the comfort of your home but support the charity effort), and $10 for youth ages 12 and under. The 200-yard Strawberry Dash for children ages 3-5 is at 7:45 a.m. This race is in conjunction with the annual Lions Club Strawberry Festival. There will be food, vendor displays, flea market and craft sales, local non-profits will be open for business, parade at 12 noon, local music performances, shaded seating, free parking and the famous Ridgely Lions Club Strawberry Shortcake & ice cream!

BSO Presents Symphony in the City

The BSO’s Symphony in the City series is back! Symphony in the City brings the Orchestra out of the concert hall and into community locations across Baltimore City. Led by BSO Assistant Conductor Jonathan Rush and featuring spoken word artist, Wordsmith, in partnership with the Friends of Patterson Park include a combination of classical favorites paired with pop music specially arranged for Wordsmith to perform with the BSO.
