Fashion for a Cause benefitting Chesapeake Kids
June 2nd, 6:30 p.m.; Porsche Annapolis
There is a lot that is new in store for the return of Annapolis’ hottest red-carpet fashion event. After three years, Fashion for a Cause benefiting Chesapeake Kids is back in the new custom service center at Porsche Annapolis on Hudson Street and with WBAL Radio’s Bryan Nehman as its celebrity emcee. Make plans to be there from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, June 2, to get a look at what you’ll be seeing this summer in the city, on the beach and at parties. Professional models will take to the runway for this high energy show with sleek and racy Porsche automobiles as their backdrop. They will be joined by community models, including Brian Gibbons and Alex Laperouse with Greenberg Gibbons, Prince George’s County Police Officer and violinist Alex Strachan, John and Terri Hussman with The Hussman Foundation, Ryan Sneddon with Naptown Scoop, Porsche Annapolis’s own Brett Smith, Evangeline Ross and Challie Samaras with Zachary’s Jewelers and Dr. Melani Bell, Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Maryland Nurses Association.
Mid-Atlantic Symphony Hosts Guest Performer Adam Glaser
June 2nd, 7 p.m.; Avalon Theatre, Easton
Award-winning conductor, composer and pianist Adam Glaser joins an ensemble of Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra musicians June 2 and 3 for an eclectic evening of jazz, crossover and contemporary music. The special Jazz Pops program will be presented on Thursday, June 2 at the Avalon Theater in Easton, MD, and on Friday, June 3 at Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Both performances begin at 7 PM. The Rehoboth Beach program will be followed by a fund-raising reception at the Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant in Rehoboth Beach.
Talbot County Rockfish Tournament

Talbot County Chamber of Commerce is hosting their Rockfish Tournament on June 3rd at the Lowes Wharf Marina. Angler entry includes 1/2 day fishing, tournament bucket, prizes, weigh-in party and lunch.

American Cancer Society Relay for Life
June 3rd, 5-11 p.m.; Crofton High School
Time to get started. We kick off the event by honoring everyone who's been affected by cancer and everyone who has contributed to the success of this year's Relay season. During this ceremony we represent everyone touched by cancer with a Luminaria. Each light represents a life—a life taken by cancer, a survivor of cancer, or a support for a person still fighting the disease. It's a powerful demonstration that gives people the opportunity to grieve but also offers comfort and hope. Luminaria may be dedicated on-line for a $10 donation, prior to the event by clicking on this link. Luminaria may also be dedicated at the event until 8:30 pm at the Luminaria Tent. Dedicate a Luminaria to a loved one lost (in memory of), someone currently battling, or anyone who has overcome cancer (in honor of).

Bowiefest brings the best of Bowie’s civic organizations, entertainers, and businesses together in one place at Allen Pond Park. Around the pond, you can sample food from area vendors including pulled pork, pit beef, corn dogs, cotton candy, funnel cakes, Italian sausage, frozen fruit drinks, and fresh-squeezed lemonade. There is always an arts and crafts area, sponsored by the Soroptimist International - Prince George's & Anne Arundel Counties and a Business Section sponsored by the Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce. Entertainment is offered on three stages.

The revived Tour de Talbot will take place again in 2022 under a new umbrella organization, Talbot Thrive, on June 4, 2022. Riders will leave from the Easton Firehall location on Leonard Rieck Drive in Easton. With the success of Tour de Talbot last year, with over 300 riders participating, the event was looking for new organizers and Talbot Thrive, a new non-profit dedicated to healthy and safe outdoor mobility for everyone, was the perfect fit. In addition to bike rides of various distances, the community at large is invited to participate in the group’s first ever Thrive Expo - immediately following the ride.

Annapolis Arts Week is back again this year from June 5-12. This week-long celebration of the arts brings together the arts community in and around Annapolis, Maryland to present and highlight art workshops, live music, galleries, festivals, performances and more. Produced and led by ArtFarm Studios, Annapolis Arts Week happens alongside Maryland Federation of Art’s annual Paint Annapolis event, which is a highlight of this week’s events. Paint Annapolis has been the premier plein air painting event bringing the community together to share in the beauty of painting outdoors for over 20 years.

6th Annual Chesapeake Bay Motoring Festival
June 5th, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Kent Island Yacht Club
The 6th annual Chesapeake Bay Motoring Festival is a celebration of motoring excellence on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The beautiful waterfront lawn of the Kent Island Yacht Club will showcase grand classic motoring surrounded by antique and classic speed boats, yachts, and more. Food and drinks from the Kent Island Yacht Club will be available for purchase, and you can check out vendor tents while live music plays throughout the day. This year’s festival is presented by St. Michaels Concours d’Elegance and sponsored by Bentley. Children under 12 get in free with adult purchase, with limited tickets and early bird discounts.

22nd Annual Steve Quick Memorial Golf Tournament
June 6th, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Eisenhower Golf Club, Crownsville
Tragically we lost Chris in an accident in 2015. Chrisʼ wife and youngest daughter suffered severe injuries, that they will have to deal with for the remainder of their lives and Darrin is currently battling Multiple Sclerosis. They have been long time supporters of the Quick Tournament and the money we help raise will go to help them finacially and with medical bills and rehabilitation equipment not covered by insurance. Also, this year we will be creating a special team award honoring the life of our friend Ted Goebels. Teddy was a great supporter of the tournament providing teams and sponsorship from Middletons Tavern, he will be sorely missed.
