Scenic Rivers Land Trust's Anniversary Hike at Bacon Ridge

Join Scenic Rivers Land Trust as we celebrate the start of summer and the anniversary of our very first conservation easement by hosting a guided hike at Bacon Ridge Natural Area. We’ll spend a beautiful evening exploring our local, protected woods and celebrating 34 years of conserving the natural, open places we all love.

Chesapeake Children's Book Festival
June 24th, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Talbot County Free Library, Easton
The festival is a one-day, rain or shine, free event that celebrates children, community, diversity, and the joy of reading. The CCBF will also serve as the kick-off event for the Talbot County Free Library’s annual Summer Reading Program. Children who sign up for the Summer Reading Program, and attend the festival, will receive a voucher good for one free book (while supplies last) from the attending author of their choice. It’s always fun to see the pride children take in asking the author of their choice to sign their very own book. The theme of this year’s Summer Reading Program is “All together now!”

Created in 1997 as a way to expose local music to a larger audience, Eastport a Rockin’ draws attendees from throughout the Eastport neighborhood and across the Annapolis area and is known as the local music festival of the summer. Tickets at the Gate will be $40 General Admission, $150 VIP, free for kids 12 and under, with discounts available online for advanced purchases.

This year's race will be extra special because it falls on a Sunday, which means even more family and friends can come out to support the runners! The race is open to all ages and abilities, so come out and join in the fun! The course start and finish line will be at the Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, making it a beautiful and unique setting for a 5k. Time is on your side with this event since it will not be officially timed but we will have a volunteer available at the finish line if you would like to check to see how you did.
