Joe Holt with Nick Bucci and Keli Vale: the New Great American Songbook

As "The Great American Songbook" (George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, et al) has stood the test of time, so will the wonderful catalog of popular classic songs from the 60s and 70s; from artists such as Sam Cooke, James Taylor, Stevie Wonder, and The Beatles, among many others. First Friday Impresario Joe Holt welcomes the Wilmington, DE area duo of guitarist Nick Bucci and vocalist Kelli Vale in a collaborative celebration he calls "The Next Great American Songbook".
July 2nd; Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum
In celebration of Independence Day, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum on the Miles River in St. Michaels, Md. welcomes The Shades of Blue Orchestra for a live performance at its Saturday, July 2, Big Band Night. The St. Michaels fireworks are scheduled to launch after dusk that evening, with CBMM’s waterfront campus a great venue from which guests can enjoy the fireworks. The rain date for the concert and fireworks is Sunday, July 3. The orchestra is set to begin at 7pm, with the public invited to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets for an evening of music, dancing, and fireworks along the Miles River. Food, ice cream, and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase during the event, which is generously sponsored by Eastern Shore Tents & Events.
July 2nd, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.; St. Luke's Church, St. Michaels
St. Luke’s Church hosts their Arts and Crafts Fair July 2, from 9-4 pm. Dozens of crafters and vendors will be on the grounds selling paintings, jewelry, and more. Funds raised from this event support St. Luke’s Church’s community outreach.

Parade: Monday, July 4, 6:30 PM - 8 PM
Come join this patriotic salute to our nation with marching bands, fire engines old and new, cars and vans, service clubs, and scouts! ROUTE: The parade kicks off at Amos Garrett and West Street. We'll head down West Street, wrong way around Church Circle, and down Main Street. Anywhere along the parade route will provide a good view of the parade.
Fireworks: Monday, July 4, 8 PM - 9:45 PM
Annapolis launches its fireworks from a barge in Annapolis Harbor. The best viewing areas include public spaces Northeast of the Severn River, City Dock, along the Naval Academy Bridge (limited parking area), any of the street end parks facing Spa Creek, and aboard a boat in the Annapolis harbor. The Spa Creek Bridge will be closed to traffic from Eastport into Annapolis beginning at 6 p.m. The bridge will remain closed until the conclusion of the fireworks at approximately 10 p.m. Please be aware that the closer you get to downtown the harder it will be to park and the more difficulty you will have getting out of town after the celebration. July 4th; Tred Avon Yacht Club
Tred Avon Yacht Club and the Town of Oxford will celebrate Independence Day with a fireworks display over the Tred Avon River, beginning at dark, around 9 pm. Bring a lawn chair and view from The Strand, Town Park, or other sites along the river, or from your boat!
July 4th; Columbia Lakefront
This July 4th is about to get amped up. CA presents two incredible acts produced by Columbia Festival of the Arts. 6pm – Bobby Thompson Quartet 7:30pm – Vanessa Collier **Howard County native and River Hill High School alum Come hungry because we have all sorts of food trucks serving from 5-9pm, including: Althea’s Almost Famous, Bennett’s Grill, Blowfish Poke, Cakes By Cynthia, Dizzy Cow Pizza, DMV Taqueria, For the Soul Food Truck, Hardy’s BBQ, Kona Ice , Pacha Mama’s Juice. Then, stick around for fireworks presented by Howard County Recreation & Parks and the Howard County Executive’s Office.
Easton's Annual Carnival and Fireworks
Through July 4th; Avalon Theatre, Easton
Easton’s annual Carnival and Fourth of July Celebration returns with fun rides, carnival food, music, and, of course, fireworks! The carnival runs for 10 days from June 24 – July 4 and open from 6:00p.m. to 10:00 p.m. On July 4 the Carnival will open at 6:00 p.m. and run all the way through the big fireworks display which will start at dusk, around 9 p.m.. Musical entertainment, Everyday People, starts at 7:00 p.m.

The Annual 2022 fireworks and family fun event is scheduled for Monday July 4th 2022 at the Chesapeake Heritage and Visitors Center. Check in closer to the event for additional information.
July 4th, 9:15 a.m.; Greater Severna Park and Arnold Chamber of Commerce
Each year, the Greater Severna Park and Arnold Chamber of Commerce, as part of our Independence Day activities, holds a Decorated Bike Contest for our youngest residents. Children can decorate their bikes, trikes and wagons and enter the contest. We also have games and prizes. The children can then enter the parade route at the Chamber. Prizes are given for first, second and third place in the categories of Most Original, Most Beautiful and Most Patriotic. Same day registration from 9:15 - 10:00 am. Bike helmets are required.

LET'S HAVE A PARADE! Registration and Sponsorships are now open for our 2022 Independence Day Parade. Our theme is "Celebrating Our Rich History." Our Grand Marshall is Kevin Sosnowski, 4th generation owner of Goska's Liquors, a business in operation for 92 years.
Dock Diving, Picnic, and Fireworks
July 4th, 4 p.m.; Whoof on the Wharf, Edgewater
Come celebrate the 4th of July with Whoof on the Wharf at our pawesome spot on the South River. From 4-7 pm, pups can try their hand (or shall we say their paw) at a little dock diving and/or paddling. Bring your own food for a picnic - we will have a grill onsite. Wine Key Experience will be back with a cash bar, as will Salty Dog and Sweet Pea Swag with all the fun dog lover's merchandise. At 7 pm we will have a not-so-official dock diving competition where the winner(s) will take home a summer of free kayaking or SUP rentals! A 50-50 raffle and silent auction will help raise funds for Whoof Park, a 10 acre, 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog park in the works in Anne Arundel County. And best of all, reserve a kayak or SUP (or a launch pass to bring your own) along with your ticket purchase and head out on the water once the sun starts going down to watch the Almshouse Creek fireworks from the waters of the South River! Or, bring a comfy chair and settle in with us on the shore to catch the show from land. It was a great show last year! Well behaved pups (who don't mind fireworks!) are welcome.
Waugh Chapel Summer Concert Series
