August 12th, 4 p.m.; The Friary, Annapolis
The Friary, a Georgian Revival mansion minutes from downtown Annapolis, is an iconic estate that has been painstakingly renovated with balance between modern luxury and historical roots. Its 270-degree views of the Severn River plus ideal proximity to the nation’s capital and Baltimore offer incredible appeal. New life has been breathed into over 35,000 square feet of living space while paying homage to the Georgian roots without sacrificing any comfort necessary to live and entertain in luxury. Step into the main core of the house, where 18th-century elements like the original heart pine floors and foyer arch moldings have been flawlessly preserved. A cleverly designed limestone rotunda containing a conservatory and atrium lead to either of the house’s wings: the impeccably appointed guest wing with spacious common room, or the chapel-turned-ballroom with sweeping limestone fireplace, herringbone teak floors, and arched double doors with a picturesque terrace beyond. The commercial-sized gourmet kitchen and second catering kitchen make entertaining on any scale a breeze. This masterpiece is truly one of a kind and invites you to write the next page of its rich history.
