Each October, the Friends of The Light House teams up with many volunteers from local churches to host our fun Pumpkin Patch at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church on Spa Road. Come find your perfect pumpkin and have a great time while supporting our beloved Light House at the same time. We feel very lucky to get our beautiful, local pumpkins through Farmer Johns of Kent Island, Maryland. The pumpkins are super fresh and have a smaller carbon footprint since they are local.

Annual Chesapeake Film Festival

Chesapeake Arts Center (CAC) is hosting its 7th annual free outdoor Arts in the Park festival for all ages. This free event will feature live music, hands-on art activities for kids and adults, chalk drawing, face painting, local art and community vendors, food trucks, and more! Arts in the Park is CAC's kick off event for our 20th Anniversary year as we "celebrate 20 years of building community through creativity" in our region. Make sure to bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the live entertainment. Thanks to the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County and Four Rivers Heritage Area for their support of Arts in the Park. 4th Annual International Edgar Allan Poe Festival

The FREE festival will take place October 2 & 3, 2021, 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM, open to the public, at Poe Park, in front of Poe House, at 203 N. Amity St., Baltimore. Special events are ticketed, including “The Poe Places Death Weekend Bus Tour” of historic sites in Baltimore associated with Poe’s Death, and the “Poe in Film & Fashion Exhibit” at 1840s Plaza which explores the ways in which Edgar Allan Poe's life and works continue to inspire and shape popular culture. 7th Annual Comfort Cases Gala Backyard BBQ

This year’s Comfort Cases gala looks and feels a little different but will remain a major fundraiser and awareness campaign for the nonprofit as they continue to provide much needed backpacks filled with personal items to youth in foster care. The 7th Annual Comfort Cases Gala Backyard BBQ will be a family-friendly event taking place on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 1-5 p.m. at the Tusculum Farm.
