Caregiving through the Holidays: A Free Virtual Workshop

The holiday season can stir up a variety of mixed emotions for many people. This year, with restrictions on gathering with friends and family due to the pandemic, navigating this time of year is even more complicated, especially for those who are caring for someone who is experiencing a chronic illness or disability. Chesapeake Life Center understands and wants to help. This team of expert counselors will host “Caregiving through the Holidays,” a free virtual workshop to offer caregivers support, foster connections with other caregivers, and explore coping strategies to use through the holiday season. Holiday Merriment at The Old Brick Inn

Virtual Friends of Hospice Santa 5K

Friends of Hospice invites you to join us December 11 - 13th from literally ANYWHERE as we hope to fill the streets with our best festive display of merriment as we support our Talbot County Hospice House. Put on your Santa hats, as we spread the joy! All proceeds will directly impact and support patient services, as well as their families! Grab and Go Family Ornament Day
December 11th through 19th; Academy Arts Museum, Easton
Due to COVID–19, the Academy Art Museum will not be able to offer in-person Family Art Days in the fall, but we will initiate themed “Grab-n-Go” art kits that parents can pick up at the Museum and work on at home with their children. The days grow short and cold, but cheer is in the air! As always, Museum staff will offer the chance to create holiday ornaments and share in family fun. Grab-n-Go Ornament Day Art Kits will be available from Friday, December 11th–Saturday, December 19th at the front desk. There is no need to reserve and no cost to participate. WACA Presents Disney Musical, "Newsies"
December 11th through 20th; WACA Center for the Arts or Virtually
West Arundel Creative Arts in Hanover presents the Disney musical, Newsies. This December play will feature a talented cast of local youth performers from West Arundel and surrounding areas. Performances are scheduled December 11th – 20th Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. at the WACA stage at 1788 Dorsey Road in Hanover, Md. Light Up the Night Boat Parade
December 12th, 6 p.m.; St. Michaels Harbor
Everyone loves to see all the houses decorated for the holidays. If you live in the local Bay Hundred area we hope you will add to the festivities by decorating the outside of your homes for everyone to enjoy. On Saturday, Dec 12 at 6pm we will have a special Lighted Boat Parade through the harbor (weather permitting of course). On Sunday, December 13, Scouts BSA Troop 758 is hosting Light Up Crofton! The Troop is selling luminary kits that people can set up outside their homes to light on the evening of Sunday, December 13. Each kit comes with the supplies for 10 luminaries so we encourage you to purchase enough sets to light up your stairs, driveway, or sidewalk. We are hoping to transform Crofton and the local area into a winter village that everyone can drive around and enjoy.
