Stevensville, Maryland - Samuel Callahan, a Stevensville local, recently raised $3,000 to help a dog named Finley, who has bone cancer, through his recently launched non-profit organization named Chesapeake Canine Charities. The check was presented to the Atlantic Veterinary Internal Medicine and Oncology this month to support Finley's chemotherapy. Chesapeake Canine Charities' mission as stated on their website, "is to help owners care for their dogs who are affected by canine cancer. Our organization will provide valuable resources and financial assistance for owners to seek medical care which will prolong their pets’ lives or ease their suffering." The organization raises funds through local events, such as the recent "Mutts and Mimosas" that was hosted at The Jetty Restaurant and Dock Bar in Kent Narrows.
