Free Admission to County Parks – Anne Arundel County Parks Now through April 21st Anne Arundel County government will honor the legacy of Speaker Michael E. Busch by waiving the entrance fees to all county parks through Easter Sunday. Comedian Rob Schneider – Rams Head On Stage Thursday, April 18th, 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Rob Schneider is an actor, comedian, screenwriter, and director. A stand-up comic and veteran of the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live, he went on to a successful career in feature films, including starring roles in the comedy films Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, The Hot Chick, The Benchwarmers, and Grown Ups. 18th Annual Boatyard Bar & Grill Opening Day Rockfish Tournament – Boatyard Bar & Grill Saturday, April 20th Known for its fun and relaxed vibe, the Boatyard Bar & Grill Catch and Release Rockfish Tournament returns for its 18th year. As a charity event, not only are the anglers doing what they love, their participaton benefits the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Coastal Conservation Association Maryland and the Annapolis Police Department Youth Fishing Camp. This free event will feature an Easter egg hunt starting at 9:30 a.m., an Easter egg roll starting at 10 a.m., and egg dyeing and crafts under the pavilion throughout the morning. Plant Sale – Historic London Town and Gardens, Edgewater Saturday, April 20th, 9 a.m. Historic London Town’s Spring Plant Sale returns, featuring an emphasis on plants found in London Town’s horticultural collections. Members and volunteers receive a 10% discount on plants all weekend. 9th Annual Chestertown Earth Day Festival – Downtown Chestertown Saturday, April 20th, 9 a.m. This beloved family event in Chestertown’s Memorial Park promotes stewardship of our planet, educates residents and visitors about innovative practices, and celebrates Chestertown’s certification as a Sustainable Maryland community. Festival-goers of all ages will browse an array of eco-friendly goods and services and explore our regional environmental organizations. Food, live music, kid friendly activities, and a recycled art contest for all ages round out the event. Cambridge Crab Run – Talbot County Courthouse Saturday, April 20th, 10 a.m. The Crab Run consists of a half marathon (13.1 miles) immediately followed by a 5K (3.1 miles) run, all from the grounds of Great Marsh Park. This race takes you past the Choptank River at the start before rolling out to the country roads of Dorchester County. Earth Day at Spocott Windmill & Village – Spocott Windmill, Cambridge Saturday, April 20th, 10 a.m. Spocott Windmill joins forces with the Dorchester Citizens for Planned Growth (DCPG) to provide a day of environmental and historical celebration. Watch the mill running (weather permitting) and tour the buildings that are part of the complex including the Windmill, Adaline Wheatley House, Castle Haven Schoolhouse, Blacksmith Shop, Country Store and Museum, and the partially renovated 19th century Doctor’s Office.
