Tournament weigh-in begins at 4 p.m. Friends of the Patuxent Wildlife Holiday Bazaar – Patuxent Research Refuge National Wildlife Visitor Center, Laurel Saturday, November 2, 9 a.m. Complete your holiday shopping while supporting a great cause during the Friends of the Patuxent Wildlife Holiday Bazaar. Purchase one-of-a-kind gifts and new and gently-used treasures from over 30 vendors. The event will also feature games and activities for all ages, including wildlife bingo, tram rides, door prizes, and wildlife holiday story time. Grateful Dead Tribute Concert for Kids – Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, Annapolis Saturday, November 2, 10 a.m. This is a concert the whole family can enjoy! Militia Muster – Historic London Town and Gardens, Edgewater Saturday, November 2 and Sunday, November 3, 10 a.m. November kicks off with a bang when Oldton’s Baltemore Rangers return to London Town. Representing early Maryland Militia, the Rangers come to live in the town over the weekend. They will conduct blackpowder demonstrations, have displays of 17th century colonial life, and demonstrate hearth cooking. 22nd Annual Tug of War – Susan Campbell Park, Annapolis and Char House, Eastport Saturday, November 2, 10 a.m. Join the City of Annapolis and Eastport for some friendly and fearsome competition during the 22nd Annual Tug of War. Help your fellow Annapolitans and “Eastport-O-Ricans” tug their way to victory during this “slaughter across the water” at Spa Creek. The tug kicks off at the crack o’ noon by the water near Chart House (Eastport side) and Susan Campbell Park (Annapolis side). The event will also feature live entertainment, a chili cookoff, a silent auction, and plenty of food and beverages. Proceeds from the event will be distributed to several local nonprofit organizations. Downrigging Festival – Downtown Chestertown Friday, November 1 through Sunday, November 3 Now in its 19th year, the Sultana Education Foundation’s Downrigging is one of the largest, annual tall ship gatherings in North America. Visitors can enjoy three days of tall ship sails, deck tours, concerts, lectures, film exhibits, family activities, and more. Proceeds benefit the Sultana Education Foundation and other nonprofit organizations operating tall ships in the festival. Run For Clean Rivers – Wilmer Park, Chestertown Saturday, November 2, 8 a.m. Spend your Saturday running along our rural roads overlooking the Chester River. After your morning run, enjoy beer, food, and entertainment while the tall ships take sail. Proceeds support ShoreRivers and its vital restoration projects, advocacy efforts, and water quality monitoring programs on our Eastern Shore waterways. Casino Night for a Cause - Gambling & Ghouls – Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department Saturday, November 2, 5:30 p.m. Join Rotary of Kent Island for its annual Casino Night for a Cause. The evening will feature professional dealers and classic casino games including blackjack, Texas hold ‘em, roulette, craps, and more. There will also be big wheels and silent auction. Beef, Bonfires & Cigars – Aspen Institute Wye River Conference Center, Queenstown Saturday, November 2, 6 p.m. Enjoy a night of food and spirit samples from several regional restaurants, caterers, wineries, and distilleries. Oyster Jam – Phillips Wharf Environmental Center, Tilghman Saturday, November 2, 12 p.m. Enjoy oysters from all over the state of Maryland, and taste the difference between oysters grown in different areas of the Bay and its estuaries. Oysters will be both aquaculture-grown and wild-caught, and will be offered raw, fried, steamed, in stew, and in signature dishes presented by select local restaurants. The event will also include beer tastings from seven different breweries with 14 different beers on tap. Proceeds benefit Phillips Wharf Environmental Center.

Brilliant Baltimore – Inner Harbor, Baltimore Friday, November 1 through Sunday, November 10 The Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts is bringing together two of its marquee events: Baltimore Book Festival and Light City. Enjoy a free celebration of art, lights, literature, music, and innovation during Brilliant Baltimore. The Baltimore Book Festival will feature author appearances, book signings, exhibitor and bookseller tents, readings, children’s activities, and cooking demonstrations. After dark, Light City will shine with 20 spectacular light-art installations by artists from the around the world, performances and live-music, and a fun-filled family zone.
