Join thousands as they run, walk, jog, and stroll the 3.1-mile course at this annual Thanksgiving Day tradition. Grand Illumination: Lighting the Holiday Season In Annapolis Sunday, December 1, 2019, Annapolis The Downtown Annapolis Partnership joins the Annapolis Jaycees as they ring in the holiday season in downtown Annapolis. The Grand Illumination and annual tree lighting takes place near the Market House every year on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. This year's celebration begins at 5:30 pm with dancing and carols by local school groups and ends at 7:00 pm. Santa arrives to help light the tree around 6:30 pm and help get everyone in the holiday spirit.

From Friday, November 29 to Sunday, December 1, the elves from the Kennedy Krieger Institute will transform the Maryland State Fairgrounds into a winter wonderland complete with decorated trees, a gingerbread town, shopping, holiday activities and entertainment for children of all ages.
