Annapolis by Candlelight – Historic Annapolis Friday, November 8 and Saturday, November 9, 5 p.m. A crisp autumn evening is the perfect time to walk through one of the many historic neighborhoods of Annapolis. The experience is even better when the doors to some of the homes are open and you are invited inside. Each year in early November, Historic Annapolis showcases privately-owned historic houses on its popular Annapolis by Candlelight tour. Visitors see how 21st-century Annapolitans care for and live in buildings constructed in the 20th, 19th, and 18th centuries. Each house is a reminder of the rich architectural and cultural heritage of Maryland’s capital city and illustrates the practical and aesthetic benefits of effective historic preservation. Privateer Party – Historic London Town, Edgewater Friday, November 8, 5:30 p.m. Throw on your best pirate costume or cocktail attire and head to Historic London Town and Gardens for its 11th annual Privateer Party. Dance the night away and enjoy delicious food from area caterers and restaurants, including a rum tasting with Lyon Distilling. The event will also include a silent auction featuring special items and trips. Veterans Classic – Alumni Hall, Annapolis Friday, November 8, 6 p.m. Join Navy for its 2019 Veterans Classic, an annual men's college basketball showcase that brings together teams from across the country in celebration of Veterans Day. At 6 p.m., Auburn will take on Davidson, followed by Navy versus East Carolina University at 8:30 p.m. Tarzan the Musical – Children’s Theatre of Annapolis Friday, November 8, 7 p.m.; Saturday, November 9, 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.; Sunday, November 10, 2 p.m. Washed up on the shores of West Africa, an infant boy is taken in and raised by gorillas who name him Tarzan. Apart from striving for acceptance from his ape father, Tarzan's life is mostly monkey business until a human expedition treks into his tribe's territory, and he encounters creatures like himself for the first time. Tarzan struggles to navigate a jungle, thick with emotion, as he discovers his animal upbringing clashing with his human instincts. Holiday Bazaar – Rockbridge Academy, Millersville Saturday, November 9, 9 a.m. Join the Baldwin Memorial United Methodist Women (UMW) for is Holiday Bazaar. Enjoy craft tables, a baked goods table, white elephant books/media, and holiday items. A lunch will be served featuring shrimp or chicken salad on a fresh roll with delicious homemade soups. Plus, don't miss a special appearance by someone from the north pole. Proceeds will support UMW Mission Projects. Collectors' Day – Hammond-Harwood House, Annapolis Saturday, November 9, 1 p.m. The third annual Collectors' Day at Hammond-Harwood House takes you to the table of yesteryear with an exploration of culinary material culture. Sources like inventories, cookbooks, and letters help us gain an understanding of an early American kitchen and dining room. Home of the historic Maryland’s Way cookbook, the Hammond-Harwood House is proud to offer this day of collections, lectures, and culinary delights.
Eastern Shore
49th Annual Waterfowl Festival – Easton Friday, November 8 through Sunday, November 10 The 49th Annual Waterfowl Festival is a community-wide, three-day event that promotes wildlife conservation, the art of sporting culture, and life on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Experience wildlife art; buy, sell, and trade antique decoys and hunting artifacts; and watch dock dogs, retriever, fishing, and birds of prey demonstrations. Visitors can sample local wines, beers, and delicacies at the Tasting Pavilion downtown or stop by the Chesapeake Marketplace at Easton Middle School to purchase unique, regional gifts. CBEC Wet & Wild Auction – Chesapeake Bay Beach Club, Stevensville Friday, November 8, 6:30 p.m. Celebrate the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center’s (CBEC) 40th birthday at the 15th annual Wet & Wild Auction. Enjoy appetizers and a dinner buffet, drinks, live music from Wheelhouse, and a live and silent auction. The event is CBEC’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and proceeds will be used to expand CBEC’s education and restoration programs. 52nd Annual Antique Show and Sale – Oxford Fire Company Saturday, November 9 and Sunday, November 10, 10 a.m. The longest continuous antique show and sale on the Eastern Shore takes place at the Oxford Fire House in Oxford during Waterfowl Festival weekend. Over 25 dealers from Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and New Jersey will offer furniture, art, china, jewelry, and so much more. 2019 Model Boat Show – Oxford Community Center Saturday, November 9, 10 a.m. Head to Oxford Community Center for the 2019 Model Boat Show. The displays range from Chesapeake-style watercraft such as skiffs, skipjacks, bugeyes, and log canoes to historical sailing ships, motorboats, and much more. There will be models and books for sale, an opportunity to win kits in the raffle, and special events for kids. Brew & Oyster Brawl – Tidewater Inn, Easton Saturday, November 9, 3 p.m. Join Tidewater Inn for its eighth annual Brew & Oyster Brawl. Celebrate the heritage of the Chesapeake Bay region while enjoying live music, an open beer and wine bar, and oysters prepared every way imaginable!

Brilliant Baltimore – Baltimore Inner Harbor Now through Sunday, November 10 The Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts is bringing together two of its marquee events: Baltimore Book Festival and Light City. Enjoy a free celebration of art, lights, literature, music, and innovation during Brilliant Baltimore. The Baltimore Book Festival will feature author appearances, book signings, exhibitor and bookseller tents, readings, children’s activities, and cooking demonstrations. After dark, Light City will shine with 20 spectacular light-art installations by artists from the around the world, performances and live-music, and a fun-filled family zone. 46th Annual Maryland Irish Festival – Maryland State Fairgrounds, Timonium Friday, November 8 through Sunday, November 10 The 46th annual Maryland Irish Festival returns to the Maryland State Fairgrounds. Enjoy traditional Irish food and drinks, performances by internationally-recognized musical groups, children’s activities, cultural exhibits from Ireland, festive contests, vendors, and more.
