Maryland Renaissance Festival – Crownsville Weekends through Sunday, October 20th Each autumn, the 27-acre village of Revel Grove in Crownsville comes to life with food, entertainment, and merriment during the Maryland Renaissance Festival. Enjoy nine weekends of jousting matches, juggling, handmade crafts, feasting, and more. Navy vs. Holy Cross – Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, Annapolis Saturday, August 31st, 3:30 p.m. Head to Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium and cheer on the Midshipmen as they kick off another great football season. Navy will host Holy Cross for their home opener. First Sunday Arts Festival and Labor Day Parade – West Street between Cathedral Street and Church Circle, Annapolis Sunday, September 1st, 11 a.m. Shop from 130 local and regional artists, eat at outdoor cafés and food trucks, and enjoy entertainment at the First Sunday Arts Festival. The Labor Day Parade will kick off at 3 p.m. and travel down West Street, turn onto Calvert Street, and ends at Northwest Street. Bayside Summer Concert Series – Downs Park, Pasadena Sunday, September 1st, 4:30 p.m. Head to Downs Park for great music by the bay, featuring music from different eras and genres. This week, enjoy a performance by Fast Eddie & The Slowpokes. Annapolis Symphony Orchestra - Pops in the Park – Quiet Waters Park, Annapolis Sunday, September 1st, 5:30 p.m. The Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, in association with the Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks, presents its annual, free Labor Day concert, Pops in the Park. This year’s Pops in the Park program is titled “Sounds of Americana.” Renowned Music Director José-Luis Novo, who is marking his 15th year with the Symphony, has prepared an exciting program of music that will hype the upcoming Masterworks Series.

The Rider Cup Benefit Golf Tournament – Queenstown Harbor Golf Course, Queenstown Friday, August 30th, 8 a.m. Join Talisman Therapeutic Riding for its fifth annual Rider Cup Benefit Golf Tournament. All proceeds from this event support Talisman's Heroes on Horses (HoH) Program. HoH is designed to help warriors returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, veterans of all wars, and first responders injured in the line of duty with physical limitations and/or post-traumatic stress disorder. There is no cost to the riders for this program as it is fully supported by Talisman's fundraising efforts. Shore Shakespeare: The Merchant Of Venice – Long Wharf Park, Cambridge Friday, August 30th and Saturday, August 31st, 6 p.m. Shore Shakespeare Company announces its annual 2019 summer tour of The Merchant of Venice. All performances are free and will be held outdoors. Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and picnics to enjoy while watching the show. Monty Alexander Jazz Festival – Avalon Theatre, Easton Saturday, August 31st and Sunday, September 1st, 2 p.m. The Monty Alexander Jazz Festival returns to Easton for the 10th year! This year, the ever-swingin’ Monty Alexander festival programming will bring phenomenal jazz artists! Enjoy an exciting lineup that will encompass some of the best jazz musicians in the country. Charity Boat Auction – Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, St. Michaels Saturday, August 31st, 5 p.m. Join the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum for its 22nd annual Charity Boat Auction. Over 100 boats—ranging in both size and performance—will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. The event also includes a flea market-style tag sale from 9–11 a.m. where guests can purchase a variety of used boating gear. Food and drink will be available for purchase.

Maryland State Fair – Maryland State Fairgrounds Now through Monday, September 2nd Celebrating its 138th year, the Maryland State Fair returns to the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. The fair will feature thrill rides for the whole family, your favorite fair games and food, strolling performers, live entertainment, and so much more! The Live! On Track Concert Series, presented by M&T Bank, will feature live performances by American pop band Hanson, southern rock legends The Marshall Tucker Band, ACM Award-nominated duo LoCash, and ’80s arena rock band Night Ranger. Redskins vs. Ravens – FedExField, Landover Thursday, August 29th, 7:30 p.m. Head to FedExField for the battle of the beltway as the Washington Redskins and Baltimore Ravens go head-to-head in their final preseason game. National Book Festival – Walter E. Washington Convention Center, D.C. Saturday, August 31st, 8:30 a.m. Head to D.C. for the Library of Congress' 2019 National Book Festival. More than 140 authors, poets, and illustrators will be on hand to connect with readers of all ages. The lineup includes U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, David McCullough, Michael Beschloss, Henry Louis Gates Jr., Barbara Kingsolver, celebrity chef and humanitarian José Andrés, graphic novel superstar Raina Telgemeier, and Library of Congress Prize for American Fiction recipient Richard Ford.
