Annapolis and West County
Annapolis Chamber Music Festival – Various locations throughout Annapolis Now through Friday, August 9th Every August, 12 classical musicians from around the world come together to bring the best chamber music to the capital of Maryland. The concerts take place at venues large and small throughout Annapolis, and provide audiences with an experience designed to foster a feeling of closeness and open exchange among concertgoers. Celtic Weekend – Historic London Town and Gardens, Edgewater Saturday, August 10th and Sunday, August 11th, 10 a.m. Celebrate Scottish and Irish history and heritage during Celtic Weekend at Historic London Town. Enjoy live music with Tweedsyde and the Devil’s Tailors, black powder demonstrations with Muskets of Crown, hearth cooking with the Appin Regiment, woodworking with Seneca Creek Joinery, fabric dyeing, waulking, and 18th-century games. Chesapeake Bayhawks vs. Denver Outlaws – Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, Annapolis Saturday, August 10th, 7 p.m. Cheer on the Chesapeake Bayhawks as they take on the Denver Outlaws. This game will also be the team’s Native American Celebration Night, where they will honor the roots of lacrosse and the history of the game. The Bayhawks will be hosting numerous members of the Native American community, including the Piscataway Conoy Tribe–the Chesapeake Bay region’s local tribe, the Maryland Commission on Indian Affairs, and the National Congress of American Indians. Carriages on West Street – Downtown Annapolis Sunday, August 11th, 9 a.m. Spend a Sunday morning with Corvette fans in Annapolis. Come see everything from perfectly restored classic Corvettes to today's newest models. Spectator admission is free. Proceeds from the event will support The Arc Central Chesapeake Region.
Eastern Shore
Caroline-Dorchester County Fair – Caroline County 4-H Park, Denton Now through Saturday, August 10th Head to the Caroline-Dorchester 4H Park and enjoy the contests, games, live music, livestock, and more. There's something for everyone at this annual county fair. Artists Paint OC: A Plein Air Event – Ocean City Center for the Arts, Ocean City Now through Saturday, August 10th Head to Ocean City for the 14th Artists Paint OC. This annual event brings in 50 plein air painters to the area and features many popular regional artists. Watch artists paint the beautiful landscapes of Ocean City, and collect art during the Wet Paint Sale on Saturday. Pirates and Wenches Fantasy Weekend – Town of Rock Hall Friday, August 9th through Sunday, August 11th Come by land or come by sea to the Town of Rock Hall for the annual Pirates and Wenches Fantasy Weekend. This weekend of music, mayhem, and surprises will transport you back to the Golden Age of piracy on the high seas. Enjoy fun activities and events all weekend long, including a sea shanty singalong, a talk-like-a-pirate contest, a rum tasting, and more. The little scallywags can enjoy a treasure hunt, costume contests, model boat building, and more. This is surely a fun-filled weekend you don’t want to miss! 14th Annual Youth Fishing Derby – Romancoke Fishing Pier, Stevensville Saturday, August 10th, 8 a.m. Join Kent Island Fisherman, Inc. and the Kent Island Estates Community Association for the 14th Annual Youth Fishing Derby. Bait is provided, but please bring your own rods. Wristbands are required for fishing and lunch admittance. Prizes will be awarded for largest fish, smallest fish, and most fish caught in each age group. Antioch Peach Festival – Antioch United Methodist Church, Cambridge Saturday, August 10th, 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Join in the celebration of this annual summertime favorite! Featuring sun-ripened peaches, mouth-watering pies, delicious fritters, homemade cobbler, authentic Eastern Shore crab cakes, cool and refreshing homemade peach ice cream, unique vendors, and more! Seafood Feast-I-Val – Sailwinds Park Saturday, August 10th, 1–6 p.m. Join the Cambridge Rescue Fire Company for the 40th annual Seafood Feast-I-Val. Held at Sailwinds Park in Cambridge, this all-you-can-eat crab feast will feature delicious steamed crabs and sides, cold beer, live entertainment, and art and craft vendors. This event will be held rain or shine. Watermen's Appreciation Day – Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, St. Michaels Sunday, August 11th, 10 a.m. The 10th annual Waterman’s Appreciation Day celebrates Chesapeake watermen and their heritage. The event will feature a spirited boat docking contest, steamed crabs and other regional food, live music, beer, boat rides, family activities, and more.

Hootie & the Blowfish – Merriweather Post Pavilion, Columbia Thursday, August 8th, 7:30 p.m. After a 10-plus year hiatus since their last formal tour, Hootie & the Blowfish are back on the road. The Group Therapy Tour, which kicked off in late May, will visit 44 cities and feature special guest Barenaked Ladies. Ravens vs. Jaguars – M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore Thursday, August 8th, 7:30 p.m. Head to M&T Bank Stadium to cheer on the Baltimore Ravens during their first preseason game of the 2019 season. Aerosmith – MGM National Harbor, Oxon Hill Thursday, August 8th, 8 p.m.; Saturday, August 10th, 8 p.m.; Tuesday, August 13th, 8 p.m. Last summer, Aerosmith announced Deuces Are Wild, a concert residency at Las Vegas’ Park Theater. Now, America’s best-selling rock band is bringing its Vegas show to three East Coast venues, including MGM National Harbor. The interactive show will feature never before seen visuals and audio from Aerosmith recording sessions.
