Kyle and Jennifer
One night in Manhattan, Kyle and Jennifer happened to meet at a party. Jennifer was a student, and Kyle tagged along with a friend. They hit it off, but couldn’t get the timing quite right. They ended up dating on and off for a few years. They would separate—Kyle deployed overseas with the Army, and Jennifer began her career in public relations—and come back together again. “We’d check in, reconnect, and no matter how much time passed, it always felt like coming home.” After finding their way back to each other during the pandemic, the timing was finally right. Always natural and easy, everything fell right into place.
As they planned their May wedding, they sought to create an experience for their friends and family. Their wedding at Kirkland Manor felt like a giant family vacation. With sprawling lawns, the elegant waterfront venue was the perfect backdrop for the simple and timeless nuptials surrounded by those closest to them. Not ones to follow trends, Kyle and Jennifer designed a day meant to be beautiful for years to come, while remaining true to their style.

Her Look
When Jennifer first began looking at dresses, she wasn’t sure what she wanted. Initially, she gravitated to simple, minimal gowns, but they just didn’t feel like her. On a visit to her hometown, she and her mom decided to stop into a boutique—the same one she bought her prom dress. She went in knowing she “wanted a ball gown for that classic, princess moment.” And though she tried simple versions of that, none of them were the one. As a fan of a little bit of sparkle, her mom brought her a dress. “Just appease me and try this on,” her mom had said. They teared up, knowing it was the dress as soon as Jennifer put it on. “The bodice had subtle [beaded] embellishment, while the rest of the gown was simple and graceful. It felt completely right for me, for the venue, and for the day I had always imagined.”

His Look
As a fashionable man, Kyle had a clear vision of his wedding look from the start: classic and timeless. His custom black tuxedo was just that, but it was the little details that really made it special. A lush, dark green satin lined the inside of the jacket. And embroidered on the underside of the collar were his initials and their wedding date.
Her Second Look
Though her dress was “the one,” Jennifer knew she needed a second look. “I’m a dancer, and dancing is such a big part of who I am. It’s what I’m known for at every party, wedding, or celebration.” The ball gown she chose to get married in wasn’t conducive to the moves she was planning to perform to Britney Spears. For the reception, she opted for a sleek, fit-and-flare dress, a pearl choker, and full-length lace gloves for an old-Hollywood glam aesthetic.

Their Entourage
Though green was a significant part of the wedding day color scheme, Jennifer feared bridesmaids in that color would blend too much with the lawn where the ceremony took place. After trying on dresses, Jennifer and the bridesmaids fell in love with a taupe champagne shade. Each bridesmaid showed off her personal style by choosing a different silhouette. Continuing the timeless and elevated look, the groomsmen all wore traditional black tuxedos.
