Not to be mistaken with the glamour shots of the 1980s, boudoir photography is the new “it “ present for a ide to give her groom. The photo shoots can be as sultry or as light as a ide prefers. And, without a doubt, any groom would welcome a private album on their wedding day.
Sitting for boudoir may feel daunting and too far outside of the comfort zone for plenty of ides. It shouldn’t feel that way. Looking inward, here are three great reasons to consider boudoir photography as you prepare for your wedding day (and none of them center on your soon-to-be-spouse).
Get Past Being Camera Shy
You know what you don’t want to do on your wedding day? Feel uncomfortable in front of the camera lens. If you have any reservations whatsoever about feeling photogenic heading into your big day, you need to some practice! Your boudoir photographer will walk you through every head tilt, toe point, and smile. By the end of the session, you’ll have a better idea of what to expect in terms of photography on your wedding day. And once you receive your boudoir photos, you’ll be able to cull through each picture in privacy, picking out which angles you like best. What a great way to prep for your wedding portraits!

Go Shopping for Yourself
Every ide needs a eak. A few months prior to the wedding, ides can go through a phase of burnout. There are decisions to be made everywhere you look. Have you picked out your ceremony readings? How about that first dance song? Are you using the gold foil on your menu cards or did you decide that was overkill? Hit the pause button and get ready for your boudoir shoot. Visit a few lingerie shops and pick out a few outfits for your photos. Plus, you need to go shopping anyway for your wedding night and that honeymoon you just booked!

Your Future Self Will Thank You
It’s hard work becoming a ide. You’ve likely never paid such careful attention to your skin, maintaining a workout regimen, and eating clean. While I’d like to tell you that you will be in the best shape of your life the rest of your life, I can’t make you that sort of promise. Life gets in the way. We age. And it’s all part of the lovely, beautiful journey of your life. But, here you are, during one of the happiest seasons of life, and there’s really nothing more powerful or beautiful than a woman cele ating her own happiness. Document it!
