The Proposal
Tim proposed to Alyssa on top of their rooftop deck in Baltimore. He had the entire rooftop covered in lights, candles and roses. Playing what turned out to be their first dance song, he had marquee letters that spelled out Marry Me.
The Venue
“We wanted a venue where we could spend time with our friends and family for an entire weekend,” the couple reflect on their venue requirements. “We knew that our wedding day would come and go quickly. We wanted to make the most of the weekend.” As such, they picked a venue where they could have events throughout the entire weekend and where family and friends could stay. “Osprey Point also has a day of coordinators who were a huge help. I can honestly say I was at complete ease on my wedding day and it was in a large part thanks to our wedding coordinators and the rest of Osprey Point’s team.”
The Rehearsal Cele ations
The couple had their rehearsal dinner right on site at Osprey Point. They wanted a laid-back, relaxed event so they included yard games such as croquet and volleyball and
also opened up the pool for guests. “The best part of the night was that Osprey Point had bikes that you could ride around town. Our idal party took the bikes over to the Welcome Party at Waterman’s Crab House.”
The Ceremony
The couple had a traditional Catholic ceremony and had their best man perform the music for the ceremony. They also opted out of a first look so that they saw each other for the first time when Alyssa walked down the aisle.
The DIY Reception
Tim and Alyssa made the chandeliers, backdrop, cork “E” and most of their reception décor together. Fitting a greenery theme and color scheme, the chandeliers that Tim made were both a hit with both guests and his ide. “It really showed how much he loves and cares for me to make my dream wedding into a reality,” Alyssa explains.
The Honeymoon
Alyssa and Tim went to Italy for their honeymoon. They started in Venice, traveled to Florence, Tuscany, Cinque Terre, Sorrento and finally the Amalfi Coast. “We loved Florence and would go back again in a heartbeat,” Alyssa and Tim share. “Italy is one of the most beautiful places I have been with so much to see. It is hard to see everything you want, but make sure to plan and make a list of all the most important things you want to do and see. Also make sure you have a day to just relax as well.”
Their Best Advice
“Since we are from Baltimore, traveling over to the Chesapeake Bay region to make appointments was an all-day event,” Alyssa explains. “To make it easier on yourselves, and since planning a wedding is very time consuming, find vendors that are all in the same area. It makes it much simpler to have one day where you visit all of your vendors in the area at once or make a weekend event out of it and cross things off your list all at once.”
