// The Eggs to My Waffles

Jenelle and Kevin met in 2014, as coworkers at a Five Below store. “When I first saw him, I thought, ‘this is the most normal guy I have ever met,’” Jenelle says. Kevin had a minor crush, but wasn’t going to let that stand in the way of the job. Very professionally, it took two years before they went out. Jenelle was always ribbing Kevin to buy her waffles, so one night, when the pair was working late, Kevin handed her a cut-out of the breakfast staple. Jenelle rolled her eyes, emphasizing she expected the edible kind, and Kevin acquiesced. They arrived at an empty diner around 11 p.m. and didn’t stop talking until 5 a.m. the next morning.

// The Search for Flora Corner

Jenelle and Kevin hail from opposite coasts, so their search for their dream venue involved site visits across both.“But it always felt like subconsciously, we’d be settling,” Jenelle says. Until Jenelle remembered Flora Corner Farm, where she had attended a friend’s wedding years before: “From the moment we pulled up until we left, we both just knew this was the place for us.”

// Decorations Included

Jenelle’s vision for her day was “boho, light, and airy.” She shared these adjectives with Flora Corner’s wedding coordinator, who presented a design mockup at the 90-day walkthrough that blew Jenelle and Kevin away. “I could have hugged her right then and there (barring covid) because I didn’t have to add or change one thing,” Jenelle says. The venue provided every decoration from lanterns and tree stumps for the aisle to a macrame tapestry that served as a ceremony backdrop.

// Packing Tips

Jenelle loved her first look, but what no one realizes is that she was so nervous about it that she broke out in hives. Fortunately, she came prepared with an allergy pill, and finally seeing Kevin set her mind at ease. Zero regrets — but a definite PSA for a handy and well-stocked first aid kit!

// Carbo Loading

All Jenelle wanted to eat was carbs, and, more specifically, pizza. So, after their engagement shoot, the couple drove an hour to a local brewery where Dizzy Cow Pizzeria was firing up its oven. After sampling a flight, the couple geared up for their “tasting” only to discover the truck had packed up and driven off. “We laughed hysterically because at least the pizza smelled delicious!” Jenelle says. They trusted their noses (and countless reviewers) and hired Dizzy Cow for the job.

// Vendor MVPs

With the exception of their beverage service, Jenelle and Kevin found all of their vendors on the Knot. “I went with my gut,” Jenelle says of her decision-making process. “Speaking with each one, I just knew they were lights and they brought joy even during the smallest of conversations,” Jenelle says. Her first pick was Brigitte Renee Photography (“she was definitely my person and she shined the brightest”), but Jenelle also raved about La Fleur Enchantee (“they were just so in tune with my desires that it felt like it was meant to be”.) Michael at Tip Top Focus was an unexpected pleasure: “We never planned on having a videographer,” Jenelle explains, “but once I saw what he created, I knew I wanted a video to relive our day over and over again.”

// The Last Dance

Everyone has a favorite moment from their wedding — often it’s the first look or when a couple exchanges vows. But for Jenelle and Kevin, their last dance surpassed everything. At the end of the reception, when all of their guests cleared the barn in preparation for the sparkler send off, the DJ started playing the acoustic version of Lifehouse’s ‘Hanging By A Moment.’ “Everything literally faded, until it was just me and Kevin,” Jenelle says. “I loved it more than our first dance!”
